LEGO Online Store – August Offers

It’s a new month, which means a new offer from the online LEGO Store.

This latest offer isn’t really a surprise. The miniature Mini Cooper set that was available for VIP customers last month has become the main promotion for August.

AUGUST 40109 Cooper Mini Model

It appears the site is still updating, so we don’t have the official terms of the offer available yet. Based on our testing you will need to spend at least $100 in total to receive the free set.

The Exosuit is now showing up on the LEGO Australia online store homepage but is not yet available for purchase. I was surprised to also see the Architecture Studio 21050 being promoted too, which is also not yet available for purchase. I believe we can also expect the Research Institute minifig set but this is not showing up as yet.

Was very excited to see 21050 listed. Will be keen to see the Australian price when it does become available. The Ideas sets are also highly anticipated.

Why are we still not seeing the products available on the Lego online store? It is now August 1st in New York and still nothing. What is the usual situation Michael?

I don’t think there is any reason to worry just yet. I believe that the Australian store is based on the UK version, rather than the American one. The Exo-Suit isn’t available in the UK yet either. Hopefully everything will be up and running within the next few hours.

4-6pm seems to be the sweet spot the last few times I’ve been waiting for a new release. Sadly, I’ll be spending a lot of that time period in transit home from work.

It’s so broken. Through sheer patience I got to checkout, when it went to approve the credit card it started looping. 🙁

Now I get a sevrer error. Should I be surprised that LEGO do server maintenance that breaks everything the day they release in-demand new sets…?

It does seem like very bad timing. I think the popularity of the Exo-Suit in particular was easy to predict.

…and by the time an order actually went through the ExoSuit was out of stock. Stuff you LEGO. >:(

Same thing happened to me! Had it in my cart to order when I got home from work and it’s already out of stock. Hopefully LEGO get more before that September date.

My order seemed to go through relatively smoothly on Friday & everything was still listed as “in stock” then, but I still haven’t got a confirmation email – has anyone got a confirmation of their order email yet? Or got a response from Lego about what’s going on? (I have an order number, & my lego account says “in process”, but that’s it).

I’m in the same boat Stewie. A while ago I was bored, so read the fine print on S@H’s shipping, and it appears they only ship to Australia on Tuesdays and Thursdays (not sure if that’s EU or Aus timezone), so I’m hoping to receive a shipping confirmation email from them in the next day or 2, which will hopefully clarify whether the Exo-Suit will ship now, or if it’s going to ship separately at a later date.

I’m sorry you’re in the same situation Nikki, but I’m glad we’re not alone. It is weird that they haven sent anything through yet, as usually there is a confirmation email, and then shipping emails (& even apology emails for something that isn’t currently in stock & then a separate shipping email for that). Hopefully it does get sorted soon, obviously the response to the two new Ideas sets on the one day was pretty overwhelming for them …

      If you click on the order number it should show the status of each item in the order. Currently my order has the following;

MINI Cooper Mini Model – In Process
      Exo Suit – Backordered
      Research Institute – In Process
      MINI Cooper – In Process

Thanks Michael; I’ve been keeping an eye on that, and it still says ‘in process’ next to each item. So long as I do eventually get one, I’m not particularly worried whether it ships with the rest of my order, or gets delayed to a separate shipment – in fact, I’d be quite happy for them to delay it & compensate me with some VIP points like someone else mentioned in one of the other articles on here.

I have read on Brickset that people all over the world are not receiving order confirmation emails at the moment, so I think it’s fair to say TLC & the S@H website are struggling to deal with the sudden influx of orders they’ve been receiving. At least I can see the order in my Order Status screen; the order I placed last month, to qualify for the classic spaceman freebie, didn’t show up anywhere other than the debit to my VIP points for about 3 days after I had placed the order, and subsequently emailed customer service to investigate.

If it says “In Process” next to your Exo-Suit then it’s possible that your order made it through before the initial stock ran out.

          • Niki

Yeah, I did place my order pretty early, when it was still showing as in stock (thanks to the above updates posted on here on Friday, about when the S@H site was finally back up and running, and had actually listed the new sets), so figured it was likely I had squeezed in in time to qualify for the initial stock.

I just checked S@H again, and whilst the order summary still shows ‘In Process’, as expected, the individual items have now updated to show a ‘Ship Date’ of 5 Aug on all items, including Exo-Suit, Research Institute, and the mini Mini freebie, just leaving the Pick a Brick as still ‘In Process’, as that always ships separately.

Still no order or shipping confirmation emails as yet, but it’s clearly making progress, so I’m not too worried about that, as they often seem a little slow and sporadic for me.

Stewie; might be worth rechecking your order status (for each separate item) too, seeing as we’ve seemed to have the same experience up until now.

Michael; hopefully that means the ‘In Process’ items from your order will also ship today.

My order went through smoothly and everything was listed as Available Now In Stock. I purchased within about an hour of the item going up online. Now it is saying the item is on back order. Well, that is not good enough. If I knew it would be delayed I might now have purchased it and got it on ebay.

I’ve just checked mine and it is now showing “shipped” for the whole order, & all the sets in the order now have “shipped” and an expected ship date of “5 August”, and I have a tracking number – yay!
Still no emails from Lego, so I’m happy I can track it through my VIP account.
I also haven’t heard back from my email to customer service, but I did call them today & even though the lady couldn’t explain the lack of email confirmation, she did say at that stage that it looked to her like the order was at the warehouse & I should get shipping notification very soon.
Perhaps your whole order is still “in process” Niki because of the pick a brick element? It’s a good sign that the rest have ship dates 🙂
I’m glad I got my order in early too – I was also motivated by the notifications from this blog – it’s definitely become my favourite lego blog to follow for news on Aussie Lego 🙂

Glad to hear you’ve had luck with your order too, Stewie, and I wholeheartedly agree that this is a great site to follow for Aussie LEGO news, so a big thanks to Michael for all his hard work. 🙂

Since my last post, my PAB has now also shipped, so as you suggested, the status of the full order has now updated to ‘Shipped’.

I get the impression that Customer Service sometimes just investigate and action a query/request email, without actually taking the time to respond, as things I’ve emailed them about in the past have just miraculously been fixed (or a missing piece has just turned up in my mailbox), even though I never heard back from anyone with a confirmation or specific answer.
