  1. Adam says:

Oof, 2/3rds the pieces of the falcon for 9/10ths the price, and no interior scenes to back that price up? I’d be waiting for a deep, deep discount with this one.

  2. Monty says:

This is what I have been waiting for ! It is beautiful !

  3. Mark says:

Who doesn’t love huge grey triangles? The beauty of monochromatic models is in the detail, texture and symmetry. Plus, it’s frigg’n huge!

  4. Anon Coward says:

It’s great, but like many will wait for the price to come down before I get it.

  5. Mike says:

I knew what it’d look like, but I was still excited for something that’d knock my socks off apart from the scale. Nope. For me the Falcon wins as a display piece easily over this one. There’s no getting around the rather dull aesthetic of all that flat grey. I was hoping for at least a bigger selection of interesting minifigs (yes, I know you don’t buy a UCS for the minifigs!) or a cool internal scene incorporated. And considering the insane size of this one, the lack of display space for me makes it even less of an attractive prospect. I’ll wait for the next smaller, cheaper and more visually varied UCS set.

  6. GJBricks says:

That is a beast! Looks fantastic, definitely worth considering once it’s on sale but that is not worth that amount – Disney/Star Wars markup anyone? And only 2 minifigures? I was hoping for a detailed interior for that price!

  7. TeufelHund says:

    Impressive…most impressive (especially the price).

Not for me except at deep, deep discount.

  8. Andrew says:

Fewer pieces than Ninjago City, but more than twice the price. That Star Wars tax is starting to bite hard.

  9. Andrew says:

Awesome set, albeit expensive. Cost per brick up there, especially when compared to the MF when on special. Shopforme has it for $879.99 at moment, might be best offer now and into foreseable future but will prob hold off to see if a better one comes along.

  10. Flumpf says:

    Shows as $1299.99 on LEGO’s site…

I don’t get the heavy reliance on price per piece to assess value. It’s an okay rule of thumb for typical sets, where the variations in piece sizes usually average out. But UCS sets can have either extreme: tons of greebling or big panels and beams to achieve size. That can lead to price-per-piece counts being pretty useless as a measure. This thing is *massive* and the price, while high, seems completely in line with expectations.
