LEGO Announces 21322 Pirates of Barracuda Bay

The latest LEGO Ideas set to be officially released as a product is here – and it’s bringing with it a boatload of nostalgia.

Introducing 21322 Pirates of Barracuda Bay

The LEGO Ideas Pirate Bay project passed review on the back of being an awesome concept. Well LEGO have taken that concept and lathered it with classic pirate goodness to create an homage to the iconic Black Seas Barracuda set.

This set allows you to create the shipwrecked Barracuda on Barracuda Bay, or optionally combine the sections of the ship to build a replica of the Black Seas Barracuda.

You also get a full line-up of classic pirate characters; Captain Redbeard, Lady Anchor, Robin Loot and twins Port and Starboard. You also get a shark, pig, 2 parrots, 3 crabs, 2 frogs and 2 skeleton figures.

This model is a bit different to the original submission and that is going to perhaps be polarising, but I personally love the direction they have taken.

You really need to check out all the pictures below. You’ll also find the official product description below too.

The set will be available April 1st for $299.99 here in Australia.

Available April fools day? That would be a pretty cruel fool if it’s not real. This set looks great, been far too long since we got classic pirate set and this one more than makes up for it. Can’t wait, so much for working from home productivity once that arrives…

I was really planning to cut down Lego purchases as we go into a time of economic uncertainty. But this looks like one of those true “instant classic” sets.

Take my money *checks wallet* Hmmmm . Take someone else’s money, but mail it to me :). This looks absolutely brilliant. I’m lucky enough to have a (well-worn) Black Seas Barracuda in the work shed and making me wait until 1 April is mean 😉
