Infinity War BrickHeadz Pictures

With Marvel’s Infinity War out next month we already have the tie-in sets on local shelves, but there are also a range of BrickHeadz coming out too.

Thanks to Promobricks we now have our first look a the lineup. With so many characters in the film not everybody is going to get a set but I think the lineup is pretty good.

Latest LEGO Ideas Review Results – Two Sets Pass Review

The LEGO Ideas team have just shared the results of the third 2015 project review, and this time there are two models that will be hitting shelves as an actual LEGO set…

The Beatles Yellow Submarine

it was hard to see how the licensing for this one was going to work out, and it passing review is a bit of a surprise.

LEGO Ideas Beatles Yellow Submarine

Yellow Submarine is a classic part of Beatles history and project creator Kevin Szeto has done a great job of rendering it with bricks. The final set should also included the band as LEGO Minifigures.

Apollo 11 Saturn V

LEGO and NASA have worked together in the past, so this set passing review isn’t a huge surprise. The only thing going against it was size – the model is around one meter tall. This could be one of the largest Ideas sets to date when it’s released.

LEGO Dimensions Series 2 Details

The official details are still a few hours away, but images of at least some of the next series of LEGO Dimensions sets have surfaced online.

The lineup includes an interesting mix of characters, from Adventure Time to The A-Team. Here are the details of what has been discovered. Click on an image to see a larger version.

71242 Ghostubsters Story Pack

A new feature of Dimensions Series 2 seems to be at least one “Story Pack”. Based on the wording of the box, a Story Pack contains an entire story – in this case the new Ghostbusters film. This seems more substantial than a Level Pack, so expect it to cost more too. Includes Abby Yates, the new Ecto-1 and the Chinese Restaurant setting from the film.

Toys R Us

ToysRUS LEGO City Trucks
First up we have a range of LEGO City trucks for $19.99 (VIP Club Price). These sets are pretty easy to find for $20, so not a huge saving there.

ToysRUS Selected LEGO City
There are also some other LEGO City sets reduced by 30%. There are some decent prices in this selection.

ToysRUS Selected LEGO Creator
Some good deals can also be found on Creator sets. The Treehouse and Aviation Adventure sets are particularly well priced.

ToysRUS Selected LEGO Chima
Some minor savings to be had on Chima too.

ToysRUS LEGO Castle
The newest Castle range is on sale for 20% off. While 20% is a good saving, these sets can probably be found cheaper elsewhere.

Target is keeping it simple with 20% off all toys, which obviously includes LEGO. 20% off is pretty common these days, but it is still a good pre-Christmas offer.

Angry Minifigures: Looking beyond the media hype

Chances are that you have recently heard media reports about the increase in angry minifigures. Some of those media reports even go into the area of these changes being bad for children. Won’t somebody please think of the children!

“Lego creating more angry faces and it could harm children’s development – researcher”

“Legos Study Reveals Angry Faces On Toys Could Influence Your Child’s Negative Behavior”
- Medical Daily

Unfortunately for the alarmist media, the original study has nothing to do with the impact of these figures on the development of children. I don’t think those media outlets actually took the time to read the report.

All of the alarmist articles seem to be focusing on one particular quote from the report’s author Christoph Bartneck

We cannot help but wonder how the move from only positive faces to an increasing number of negative faces impacts on how children play.

Christoph Bartneck was asking a question, not answering it.

Bricking Around took the time to read the report, and looked at some of the elements that were missed by the media.
