Double VIP October 2014

To take advantage of the offer you will need to have an existing VIP account, or contact LEGO customer service prior to placing your order. The image above will take you directly to the store.

Santa’s Workshop is also now available to non-VIP customers

10245 Main

If you are interested in this set it may be worth holding off until the 15th of October. Australia usually follows the UK promotions, and there are strong indications that a new promotion will kick off in the second half of the month; A bonus Elf Workshop set when you purchase Santa’s Workshop. At this stage we are unable to confirm with absolute certainty that Australia will be getting this promotion.

Bricktober 2014 Update – Mini Modulars Not Available Separately

Bricktober Logo
We have some bad news for those of you who were hanging out for the Toys R Us exclusive Mini Modular sets. While we were originally told that these sets would be available to purchase separately, Toys R Us have since clarified their position and informed us that this is no longer the case.

We suspect that Toys R Us underestimated demand for these sets, and realised that stock needs to be reserved for the original promotion.

It’s quite disappointing as these sets were available yesterday, but only for a very brief window. It is possible that certain stores may allow you to buy the sets by themselves, but the official position is that they are a bonus only.

Here is message that we received this morning;

Hi Michael,

We have just been advised that unfortunately these Bonus Building Sets cannot be purchased separately. We apologise for the miscommunication.

Thank You
The Facebook Team

2015 Set Images Surface Online – Part 1: LEGO Movie, Bionicle, DC & Speed Champions

Every year in October, LEGO fans start to wonder what the following year will have in store. We have already seen leaks with set names, but now we have pictures to go with them. Over on YouTube a user by the name of Just2Good has uploaded several videos with what appear to be official images of various 2015 sets.

Here is what we have seen so far… (Click on any image to see a larger version).

The LEGO Movie

The film may have been a 2014 release, but the tie-in sets will continue in 2015. The Double Decker Couch seems to be the standout, with a great selection of characters in what should be an affordable set.

Bricktober Coming To Toys R Us This October

Bricktober Logo

We had read some reports about a Bricktober event taking place at Toys R Us stores in the US, and we crossed our fingers and hoped that Australians would get something similar.

The latest Toys R Us catalogue has the answers – Australian LEGO fans will have a chance to grab one of four exclusive Mini Modular sets when they spend $100 on LEGO. These sets appear to be a different scale to the 10230 Mini Modulars set, but still look great. We have included larger images of the four sets at the end of this article.

Toys R Us Bricktober Sets 2014

From the terms and conditions it appears that the offer is one set per $100 spend. The sets are also given a retail price of $14.99 but the terms do not make it clear if they can be purchased separately or not. We have asked Toys R Us for clarification.

UPDATE

We received a response from Toys R Us about availability;

The Bonus Lego Building Sets will be available to purchase separately. Unfortunately these are not currently available online, only in store.These retail for $14.99 each.

The catalogue runs from Wednesday October 1st – Tuesday 14th October. Check out the full catalogue here.

There are also a few different sets on sale. It’s not the largest sale, but it should certainly help get you to that $100 threshold.

Bionicle To Return In 2015

LEGO Bionicle 2015

It was not exactly a well kept secret, but LEGO has officially revealed that Bionicle will return in 2015.

We suspect that reaction to this news is going to be quite mixed. There are some very dedicated Bionicle fans out but there, but there are also a lot of people that don’t like the style. It will certainly be interesting to see how these sets are received once they hit the shelves.

There should be more information released at New York Comic Con in October. Until then all we do know is that these new sets will revolve around a new mask called the Mask of Creation, which is made from from raw magic and solid gold.

We’d love to know what you think of the return of Bionicle. Let us know in the comments.
