Warning: Your Millennium Falcon May Cost A Little More Than You Thought

75192 MF Fee Article

The largest ever LEGO set goes on sale for LEGO VIP customers some time tomorrow and if you aren’t already aware it’s expensive – the Australian RRP is $1299.99.

You may think that being the Australian LEGO site, and being charged in Australian dollars that the price you see is the price that you will pay? Unfortunately that isn’t always the case. A lot of credit cards will charge you an international transaction fee if the store is located outside of Australia, regardless of the currency being charged.

Here is a quick look at what the various Australian Banks say about this:

On Sale: 20% Off City, Friends & Duplo At Myer

Myer Logo Generic 200px

Myer are getting in to the School Holiday spirit with a new Toy Sale offer. Despite having sales all year that cover everything this offer is limited to just three themes. They are popular themes but there is a lot of LEGO not included.

The 20% off City, Friends & Duplo is an online only offer. At this stage there doesn’t seem to be any obvious end date. The wording on the website makes it seem that there will be more offers later.

You can view the ranges here: City, Friends & Duplo.

Thanks to my wife who spotted this sale last night.

On Sale: Selected Sets Reduced At Toys R Us

Toys R US Logo 200px

The Toys R Us sale from two weeks ago is wrapping up today, which unsurprisingly means that there are some new offers. This isn’t the most extensive list but does feature some of the new Star Wars sets as well as a few from The LEGO Ninjago Movie.

The sale starts in store tomorrow (September 13th) or online tonight. You can view the catalogue for yourself here, or see the list of sale sets below.

With School Holidays starting shortly it might be worth waiting to see what other retailers are going to offer. This sale does run for two weeks and there is nothing so amazing that it’s likely to fly off the shelves.

On Sale: 20% Off At Myer When You Buy Two or More

Myer Super Saturday May 2015

Myer are having another Super Saturday sale, with the online offers already starting today.

On offer for LEGO fans is 20% off when you buy 2 or more items. Both items don’t need to be LEGO but why would you miss out on an excuse to buy two sets?

This offer runs from today (September 8th) until 11:59pm AEST Sunday September 10th. The website says that this is an online only offer.

Unfortunately there are some annoying exclusions: LEGO Star Wars, Ninjago Minifigures and LEGO Creator Expert. That means none of the Last Jedi sets are included in the sale.

You can view the Myer range here.

The website says this cannot be used with any other offers but I just tested the anniversary codes and they still worked even with the 20% off. The codes are ANNIVERSARY10 for $10 off when you spend $60 or more, ANNIVERSARY15 for $15 off when you spend $80 or more and ANNIVERSARY20 for $20 off when you spend $100 or more.

Thanks to Tim for letting me know about this sale.

Review: The Ninjago Movie Minifigures

The Ninjago Movie looks like it is going to be a heap of fun, and like the LEGO Movie and LEGO Batman Movie before it LEGO have released a series of tie-in minifigures. With 20 different minifigures in this series there is a lot to cover, so lets get stuck in to it.

There are two parts to this review, first up brief review of each minifigure with pictures. The second part is a full 360° degree look at each minifigure. I have grouped the minifigures into four different batches for the 360° looks; Ninja Crew, Garmadons, Shark Army & Others.

The Minifigures

Lloyd

Lloyd

Lloyd is undoubtedly the main character of the movie and this minifigures features him in his ninja outfit. The two-part ninja mask works well but I am sure that a lot of kids are going to misplace the smaller neck part in time. The optional hair element gives you some flexibility in play/display options. The highlight of this minfigure may just be the printed tile. The blue on white is quite striking and the design perfectly matches Lloyd’s mech. The printing on the torso reads NINJA.

On Sale: 10% Off At eBay, 20% At Myer’s eBay Store

eBay 200

A new site-wide eBay offer went live yesterday afternoon. This time the offer is 10% off everything when you spend $75 or more. With general sales like this you’ll need to do a little bit of work yourself to find the best deals. Don’t forget that eBay is an open marketplace and people can charge whatever they like. Don’t get ripped off.

To get the 10% off use code PAINT at checkout. The offer ends September 8th 2017.

Head on over to eBay and have a look around.

Myer Offer

If the item that you are after happens to be available from the Myer eBay store then you are in luck – they are offering 20% off with a different code. You won’t be able to use both codes unfortunately.

The code for Myer’s 20% off is PMYER20 and it is valid until September 11th 2017.

Happy Father’s Day

Haapy Father’s Day to all the dads out there. I hope you all got spoilt with plenty of LEGO.

Force Friday Deals From LEGO

It might feel like everything is about the Millennium Falcon right now, but it’s also Force Friday II which means all of the Last Jedi merchandise is now officially available.

I’ll be trying to do a round-up of the sets and prices later today but if you are interested in buying directly from LEGO there are some special offers that you may be interested in…

Triple VIP Points on all Star Wars purchases

FFII Triple VIP

The offer is valid from 1st to 3rd of September 2017.

Free Mini First Order Heavy Assault Walker

FFII Free Heavy Ass Walker

The website says that this offer is for orders equal to or greater than £60 in LEGO Star Wars™ merchandise only. I am guessing that would be about $100 AU. Again this offer runs from September 1st to 3rd.

Exclusive poster for VIP customers

FFII Free Poster

If you are signed in to your VIP account and purchase LEGO Star Wars sets you will receive one of three posters. The website says to come back each day for a different poster but that it is unlikely with the $200 free shipping threshold. This offer is also September 1st to 3rd.

It’s Real – LEGO Announces New UCS Millennium Falcon

There is a line in The Force Awakens that I think is appropriate here… “It’s true, all of it”. After months and months of rumours, speculation, fake leaks, teasers and even some real leaks LEGO have today announced the largest ever LEGO set.

Introducing 75192 Millennium Falcon

MF75192_Prod

It’s hard to put in words just how amazing this set is. Here are the key points:

  • The set has 7,541 pieces.
  • Same external dimensions as the previous version
  • It comes with two sets of minifigures – Han Solo, Chewbacca, Princess Leia and C-3PO based on Empire Strikes Back. From the sequel trilogy there is Older Han Solo, Rey and Finn.
  • The exterior has all new more accurate detailing.
  • There is multiple sections of detailed interior – Main hold with printed Dejarik board. Rear compartment with engine room and hidden compartment. Gunnery station with minifigure gunner’s seat.
  • The model can be configured in Original Trilogy or Sequel Trilogy formats – it includes a round dish and a rectangular one.

Words do little to describe the epicness of all this. So I suggest you check out the image gallery, press release and designer video below. Warning for mobile users: There are a lot of images and I left them quite large so that you can see all the details.

According to somebody I spoke to at LEGO the Australian RRP is $1299.99. The set will be officially released on October 1st, but there will be a VIP release on September 14th.
