Latest LEGO Ideas Review Results – One New Set Passes

The latest LEGO Ideas review results are in and one project has made it through the review stage and will become an official product.

Tron Legacy Light Cycle is that successful project.

Tron Legacy LEGO Ideas Non Final

The review featured 11 finalists in total but unfortunately the other 10 didn’t make the grade. I am not a huge fan of the Tron franchise but the set itself looks quite nice. It will be interesting to see how well this particular set does.

No word on availability or pricing at this stage.

Special Mention – Surf Rescue

The Surf Rescue project was a passion project from Australian father and son team Damien and Aiden MacRae. Damien is suffering from stage 4 melanoma, and wanted to use the project to raise awareness of sun safety. While LEGO will not be making the surf rescue set they have stated a desire to work with the MacRae on some special projects to spread their message.

On Sale: 20% Off At Myer’s eBay Store

Myer eBay 200

The Myer eBay store has gone live today with a new 20% off code that applies to all of their listings.

To get your discount you will need to use the code PMYER at checkout.

Like most eBay code the maximum discount is $300. This is a single use code so you will need to get all of the LEGO you are after at once. The code is valid until 23:59 (AEDT) on December 4th.

The best part of this is that Myer already has numerous sets on sale for 20% off, with the additional code those sets are reduced by 36%. The already discounted items are marked in red so should be easy to spot.

View the Myer eBay range here.

Thanks to David for sharing this on the Bricking Around Facebook page and making sure I didn’t miss it.

On Sale: 10% Off Selected Sets At LEGO Online

LEGO Online Shop LEGO

The Australian online store very rarely has sales. We didn’t get anything for Black Friday for example.

Surprisingly we are getting some discounts for Cyber Monday, the completely made up day to celebrate online shopping.

On offer is 10% off a range of sets (you can see the list below) for today only (November 27th). Obviously 10% off isn’t going to break any records but with VIP points and the Nutcracker promotion it’s not that bad of an option for some sets.

You can view the full listing here.

Taj Mahal Re-Release Now Available

LEGO shocked us all with an unexpected re-release of the Taj Mahal, this time with a set number of 10256.

Today is the official release date of the set and if you need further evidence that re-releases are popular, the set is already set to backorder status.

10256 Taj Mahal Release

If you get in quick it shouldn’t be a huge issue, as the backorder ship date is currently displaying as November 28th (which is tomorrow).

70922 The Joker Manor Now Available

With all of the sales going on today you may not have remembered that it is also the day that The Joker Manor goes on sale.

70922 Joker Manor Now Available

This massive LEGO Batman Movie set will cost you $399.99 for the 3444 pieces and 10 minifigures included.

I know there was some interest in the set just for the new roller-coaster track elements. Will you be picking it up? This isn’t a VIP release so anybody can grab their set today.

On Sale: Selected Sets Reduced At Target

Target 200x200

Rather than offering a broad discount for Black Friday Target are instead reducing prices on a small selection of sets.

They are some popular sets but it’s not the most mind-blowing selection on offer.

These reduced prices are valid until 11:59 PM AEDT on Monday November 27th. You can view their Black Friday sales page here or see a list of the included sets below.

Update

As discovered by Shayne in the comments, these prices are also showing on the Target eBay store. Using the code PANTONE you can get an extra 10% off. View the eBay listings here.

On Sale: Up To 40% Off At Cheeky Toys

Cheeky Toys Thumb Logo

It’s not just the big retailers getting in on the pre-Christmas discounting bonanza. The owner of online store Cheeky Toys got in touch with me last night to let me know that they are having a LEGO sale too, with prices up to 40% off.

There are some sets that are 10% off but the majority appear to be at least 20% off.

They are also giving away a mystery gift for spending $100 or more in a single transaction.

The LEGO sale runs until December 31st.

You can view the Cheeky Toys range here.

On Sale: 10% Off At eBay [28% Myer eBay]

eBay 200

eBay are also getting in on the Black Friday hype with a new discount code.

Using the code PANTONE you can get 10% off your order when you spend $75 or more.

The 10% applies to item costs only and the discount is capped at $300 per transaction. The terms and conditions page doesn’t list a specific end date for this but my guess would be that it will run until Monday.

You can head over to eBay and look around for yourself.

28% Off At Myer

The PANTONE code is a site-wide code, so unlike the last code that didn’t work with Myer’s existing sale this one does stack. The code combined with Myer’s existing 20% off works out to be an awesome 28% off RRP.

You can view the Myer eBay LEGO range here.

On Sale: 25% Off When You Buy Two or More Sets At David Jones

David Jones Logo

Happy Black Friday everybody! Sure the concept is new here in Australia but retailers would be crazy to pass up an opportunity to get people spending money.

Sure enough the offers are starting to flow through and I’m opening with this pretty awesome offer from David Jones.

If you buy two or more sets you can get 25% off your total order. This is works out better than “Buy One, Get One Half Price” sales because the 25% off is applied to the total and it doesn’t matter if the set prices are different.

This offer is available until Sunday November 26th.

You can view the David Jones LEGO range here.

Thanks to Chris and Kon for both making sure I didn’t miss this.

Free LEGO Nutcracker Now Available From LEGO Online

The Australian online LEGO store has been updated with a new freebie.

Spend over $120 and you will receive a free LEGO Nutcracker set (40254)

2017 Christmas Free Nutcracker

This is advertised as a Brick Friday/Cyber Monday bonus, so it may only be running until Monday night. I suggest that if you are planning to get an order in you do so sooner rather than later.

The set looks great and is a perfect Christmas bonus.
