Make & Take Plus Competition At Toys R Us

This Saturday at Toys R Us is a special event called Geoffrey’s Day. The day is all about celebrating play. There are special events on in every Toys R Us store, and according to the email I received one of those events is a LEGO Make & Take.
Toys R Us Geoffreys Day 2017

There is no information other than a mention of it on the Geoffrey’s Day page, so I don’t know what the actual set is. There is also no registration page for this Make & Take, so it’s likely to be a first in first served scenario so you’ll want to get to the store nice and early.

If you are planning to pick up some LEGO on the day then you can go in the draw to win an awesome LEGO prize pack. To go in the draw you’ll need to spend $50 or more on LEGO products. You can click on the image below to see more information about the competition.

Geoffrey’s Day is Saturday July 15th, and is one day only.

Competition: Win A 42065 RC Tracked Racer Set

RC Tracked Racer 42065 Competition Thumb

Due to a mix-up I received another 42065 RC Tracked Racer set this week, and as tempting as it was to build it have races I have instead decided to share the LEGO Technic fun with one lucky reader.

How do you win? I had a blast testing out the set with a series of challenges, but there were some things that I didn’t test. In 25 words or less let me know what challenge you’d like to put the RC Tracked Racer through – it can be a crazy stunt or important performance test.

The most interesting answer will win the set. Before you enter you may want to check out the RC Tracked Racer Challenge video, or my review of the set.

Entries now closed.

Competition: Polybag Giveaway

Woolworths stores are currently stocking a range of polybags but they seem to be a bit hard to track down.

To help out a little I didn’t just get myself two polybags from my local store – I got 4 so that I could share the polybag fun with you all. There are two polybags on offer – one 30400 Gymnastics Bar and one 30426 Stealthy Swamp Airboat set.

The first name drawn will get first pick, and the second name drawn will receive the other set.

How do you enter? Rather than just entering your name, I’ve decided for this competition you’ll have to do a little work. I have reviewed both of the polybags on offer. Read each review and then answer two questions to go in the draw.

Win The Ultimate Modular Prize Pack

Modular Contents Main Small

This is amazing. I’m usually a pretty positive guy who is fairly generous with superlatives, but calling this amazing is probably an understatement.

LEGO are holding a competition that is only being promoted to LEGO fans through RLUGs or RLFM sites (like this one). The prize is ALL OF THE MODULARS. No, that doesn’t just mean the modulars that are currently available, I mean all of the modulars. It seems that somebody at LEGO has been doing some digging through their secret vaults.

This is the full prize:

  • 10230 LEGO Mini Modulars
  • 10182 LEGO Café Corner
  • 10190 LEGO Market Street
  • 10185 LEGO Green Grocer
  • 101097 LEGO Fire Brigade
  • 10211 LEGO Grand Emporium
  • 10218 LEGO Pet Shop
  • 10224 LEGO Town Hall
  • 10232 Palace Cinema
  • 10251 Brick Bank
  • 10246 Detective’s Office
  • 10243 Parisian Restaurant
  • 10255 Assembly Square

Yep – all of that. Two runners up will win a 10255 Assembly Square.

It’s the dream of a lot of LEGO fans to own the full set of modular buildings, and now is your chance to get the older ones new in a box from LEGO directly. Buying all of those sets new in box would cost you thousands.

How do you win? To enter this competition you need to create your own LEGO Mini Modular building. There are some specific specifications that you will need to comply with:

  • Your model should be 8 x 8 studs.
  • Must include two stud wide footpath/sidewalk.
  • The model must feature two “Technic Brick 2×1 with 1 Hole” so that it can connect to other models. These should be positioned 2 studs in from the back and four from the front
  • Can be either a straight or corner building.
  • There is no restriction on height.
  • Should be a similar scale to 10230 LEGO Mini Modulars and not include LEGO Minifigures.
  • Do not make a licensed mini modular.
  • You can build with real bricks or use LEGO Digital Designer software
  • Some photo editing is allowed, for example to replicate a printed brick.

There are a few more rules that you can check on the competition page. There are also some restrictions on who can enter, but none that should affect Australian entrants.

You can submit your entry via the competition page here. Entries close on May 13th 2017 so you’ve got a little bit of time to plan and build something awesome. Good luck everybody.

Here’s that prize list again…

Celebrate Easter With #LEGOEaster

40086 Easter Bunny

The best thing about becoming an RLFM site is that I get to find out about all sorts of great things for you – the members of the Bricking Around community. This campaign from LEGO is one of those opportunities.

In an effort to spread a little Easter spirit and LEGO love the team responsible for global campaigns are looking for people to participate in this years #LEGOEaster campaign by sharing your amazing pictures online using the #LEGOEaster hashtag.

What’s in it for you? Once you have taken your #LEGOEaster picture and spread it around on social media you can upload it to a special Flickr group. That Flickr upload counts as your entry in an exclusive lucky draw. LEGO will pick 10 raffle winners, each getting a goodie bag with LEGO related Easter awesomeness and a medium sized LEGO set on top.

If you are one of the lucky winners I will need to verify that you are a Bricking Around “member”. The best way to do that is comment with a link to your Flickr photo, or like the Bricking Around page on Facebook.

Here’s more of a breakdown of what to do…

  1. Take a LEGO Easter related photo.
  2. Share it on Facebook/Twitter/Instagram with the hashtag #LEGOEaster
  3. Upload your photo to the special Flickr group and put your name, Bricking Around and #LEGOEaster in the comments e.g. Michael, Bricking Around #LEGOEaster

You can view the Flickr group here.

This isn’t a building competition – the winner will be randomly selected from the Flickr group. As long as your picture relates to LEGO and Easter you are in with a chance.

I’ve included the information as provided by LEGO below.
