The Dreamworld LEGO Store Turns One This Sunday

On January 28th 2017 the Dreamworld LEGO store opened it’s doors to the public. The first certified LEGO store in the country. Now, a year later they are having a special event to celebrate the store’s first birthday. The best bit is that you get the gifts.

If you spend $199 or more in-store on the day you will receive the exclusive 40145 LEGO Brand Retail Store set. This is a set that is very hard to track down. It also happens to be the same set that was given out for the grand opening. There is a limited amount of stock of the giveaway so I’d aim to get there early rather than late.

Younger LEGO fans will also be able to meet characters from NINJAGO and LEGO City on the day (9am – 12pm).

You May Be Able To Buy A Millennium Falcon Tomorrow

Unfortunately this is one just for people in Melbourne and the Brisbane/Gold Coast area… both the LEGOLAND Discovery Centre in Chadstone and the Dreamworld LEGO Store have confirmed that they will have stock of the 75192 Millennium Falcon set tomorrow.

The store’s Facebook page has confirmed that they will have 45 of the sets available with a limit of 1 per person. Stock is first in first served.

The store will be opening early at 8:30am but chances are you will need to line up early.

The store manager has confirmed that they will have “more than 45″ units available when the doors open at 9am tomorrow.

They will also have a limit of 1 per person and first in first served.

Remember the store is separate from the park.

Both of these options are likely to be extremely popular. Good luck to those of you who are trying to get your hands on a set. I’d love for you to share some line pictures on the Bricking Around Facebook page if you happen to be heading to either location.

Dreamworld LEGO Store Looking For New Manager

Dreamworld LEGO Store Thumb

Do you live on or around the Gold Coast, have retail experience and a passion for LEGO? The Dreamworld LEGO store is currently advertising for a new store manager.

While it’s not quite getting paid to play with LEGO all day you will still have an opportunity to be around the product you love. You’ll also be able to help other LEGO fans.

The ad specifically mentions that they are looking for somebody with “a solid understanding of the retail environment coupled with pride and passion for both Dreamworld and the LEGO product offering”.

If that sounds like you then you should check out the job ad over on Seek. The full ad has a lot more information about who they are looking for.

R2-D2 Polybag Available At Dreamworld

Dreamworld are holding their annual Stormtrooper event this weekend, and to get in on the celebrations the LEGO store will be offering the Brick-built R2-D2 polybag.

You’ll be able to get yours from today (Saturday May 27th) when you spend $120 or more.

This offer will run as long as stock lasts so it could go quickly or run for a little while, it’s hard to know how much stock there is.

Assembly Square In Stock At Dreamworld

10255

I know that there were a few people specifically asking about this set, so I am pleased to let you all know that I received an email from the Dreamworld LEGO Store manager informing me that 10255 Assembly Square is now in stock.

If you want to get one of these sets immediately (and live close to the store) here is your chance.

I wasn’t given stock numbers but there is a good chance that stock will move quickly.

There are also other new sets in stock but I don’t have a full list.

Everything You Need To Know About Dreamworld’s LEGO Store

Dreamworld LEGO Store Thumb

I was lucky enough to be given a preview tour of Australia’s first LEGO Certified Store at Dreamworld today. The store officially opens at 9am Saturday January 28th (QLD time) but I was able to check it out and get the low down on everything you need to know.

Will the store be offering the same promotions as LEGO online?
Some of them. The manager I spoke to was unable to confirm that all of the LEGO Online promotions would appear in the store, but some should. These promotions will be advertised on the Dreamworld Facebook page. During the tour the store manager discussed the possibility of a dedicated page for the store, so keep an eye out for that.

What is planned in the way of events for kids?
The store will be holding monthly events for kids. These won’t all be Make & Take events but at least some will.

Is anything planned in the way of adult events?
At this stage there isn’t anything planned for AFOL specific events.

What benefits are there for Dreamworld ticket holders?
The shop is purely a retail space. There are no advantage for ticket holders (no discounts etc). We already knew that you’d be able to enter the store from outside the park but it’s nice to know that those with tickets won’t get special treatment.

Dreamworld LEGO Store To Open January 28th

After months of speculation Dreamworld have finally confirmed the opening date for Australia’s only Certified LEGO Store. The store officially opens January 28th

The store is going to be an exciting destination for LEGO fans. For those curious you can enter the store without going in to the park.

Who is planning on attending? I am trying to work out my schedule but I hope to be there.

Dreamworld have said they will be sharing more details be for the opening so stay tuned.

Australia’s First LEGO Store Coming To Dreamworld

Dreamworld LEGO Store

For years there has been plenty of healthy debate amongst Australian LEGO fans about whether or not we need/want/would ever get a LEGO Store in Australia. At least part of that debate ends today with news from Dreamworld that they will be the site of Australia’s first Certified LEGO Store.

A Certified LEGO store isn’t quite an official LEGO store, but the differences are mainly administrative. Certified stores feature the same LEGO Store experiences – including the Pick-A-Brick wall – but are operated by a third party.

The Dreamworld store will be 350 square metres of LEGO goodness. If you are worried that the cost of Dreamworld ticket is going to make the whole thing pointless then fear not – the store will be part of a new stand-alone precinct located at the front of the park, with access from outside the park. Dreamworld passholders will get access to exclusive LEGO products and special LEGO events though.

The LEGO store will feature “The Living Room”, an interactive play area and a “brand ribbon” display of fully assembled LEGO models. The LEGO Certified Store will have exclusive sets and regular hands-on activities for children and families to experience the creativity and imagination that goes into LEGO building.

Certified LEGO stores also generally get sets at the same time as their online release, so no more waiting for exclusive sets to show up in stores.

There are likely to be plenty of LEGO fans wishing that the store was coming to a shopping centre closer to them, but a theme park location makes a heap of sense. Dreamworld is a major tourist attraction with a huge number of local, interstate and international visitors each week.

The store will open in November this year. You can read the official press release below.
