LEGO Is After Your Opinion On Packaging

76052 Batman Classic TV Series - Batcave Thumb

LEGO have sent out a request for people to complete a brief survey on how sets are packaged.

Packaging may not be the most interesting thing to everybody but I know some people collect boxes.

The survey is also a chance to discuss things like the outer boxes LEGO uses for shipping from their online store.

You can complete the survey here.

Myer Logo Generic 200px

It’s rare to see a sale with a flat discount over 20%, but that’s exactly what Myer are offering today.

For today only (December 17th) Myer are offering 25% off LEGO. It’s too late for online delivery but you should still be able to take advantage of click & collect or head in store.

To take advantage of the offer online enter the code 8DAYSTOGO.

There are a few terms to the offer worth mentioning; Excludes LEGO Minifigures. Limit of 5 per customer for Lego Creator Expert Big Ben 10253 and Lego Technic Porsche 911 GT3 RS 42056.
Cannot be used with other offers. Offer ends 11:59pm AEDT Saturday 17 December 2016, unless sold out. Some items previously discounted.

I’ve also seen that some stores do have the new Rogue One sets in stock. Good luck.

2017 Set Details

2017 Set Details Thumb

LEGO have been busy updating their online store with pages for sets that are being released in January.

After a bit of work I’ve compiled all of that information into an easy to read table with pictures, Australian RRP and a link to each product. There’s over 150 new sets being released.

This information all comes from the online store, and sets are released there before anywhere else. This list doesn’t factor in the staggered retail release that we usually get and it doesn’t account for retailer exclusives. We’ll know more about that when the 2017 retailer catalogue is released.

In the meantime have a look through the list and weep for the future of your bank balances.

On Sale: 20% Off At Big W This Weekend

If you had plans this weekend you may need to re-evaluate your priorities – the Big W Facebook page has just confirmed 20% off all full priced LEGO this weekend until November 13th.

This could be the best possible time to pick up a Ghostbusters HQ or the Porsche 911 (which is already cheap at Big W).

The offer is unlikely to apply to anything ‘on sale’ in last week’s catalogue.

20% off isn’t the best offer but Big W does have regular prices lower than RRP, which makes things interesting.

Update: I originally missed that this ran for two weeks. As of 4am AEST prices on the online store are not reduced, I’ll keep an eye on this during the day.

Update 2: Online prices have now been updated. You can view the range here.

Australian Online LEGO Store Gets A Facelift

If you head over to the Australian online LEGO store you will notice that things look a little different.

Australian Online Store New Design

After rolling out the new design in other regions the new site is now up and running for Australian shoppers.

LEGO have created a video to show off some of the changes.

What do you think of the redesign?

From today (May 26th) until Monday May 30th you can get 15% off all LEGO.

The Big W online range isn’t the same as their in store range, but there are still plenty of sets to consider. You can check out the range here.

Thanks to Basta for sharing this news.

Heap of New Sets Added To LEGO’s Online Store

2ND Half 2016 Thumb

LEGO have just updated their Australian online store, with a heap of the second half 2016 sets now listed.

The new sets cover a range of themes including City, Creator and Nexo Knights. Included in the batch is the LEGO City Fun in The Park set that had a lot of people talking when it was first unveiled.

Below is a list of all the new sets found so far and each has a link to view the product page in full.

There is still no catalogue available for the second half of 2016 so we don’t know when these sets will appear at retail.

LEGO’s Latest Technic Set Is This Awesome Supercar

At various toy fairs earlier this year there was a mysterious LEGO Technic car disguised with patterned stickers, just as real cars are disguised on the test track. After months of speculation LEGO have finally released official details of the set.

Introducing 42056 Porsche 911 GT3 RS

42056 Porsche 911 GT3 RS Main

Rather than the odd zebra pattern the set comes in a fantastic orange colour that closely matches Porsche’s Lava Orange colour.

This isn’t just your regular LEGO Technic set either – LEGO and Porsche have worked closely to make this a fantastic collectors item with a special collector’s book chronicling the history of LEGO Technic and Porsche GT cars included. Special attention has been given to the actual build too – parts are separately boxed for a building sequence that gives an insight into the real-life vehicle’s assembly process.

With 2,704 pieces this set isn’t going to be cheap but it’s certainly going to cost you less than a real 911 GT3 RS. No Australian RRP at this stage but as soon as that information is available we’ll share that.

Check out the press release, designer video and additional images below.
