Infinity War BrickHeadz Pictures

With Marvel’s Infinity War out next month we already have the tie-in sets on local shelves, but there are also a range of BrickHeadz coming out too.

Thanks to Promobricks we now have our first look a the lineup. With so many characters in the film not everybody is going to get a set but I think the lineup is pretty good.

Details of Marvel: The Universe Unites Promotion

March 3rd is not only the day that the Hulkbuster goes on sale, it is also the start date for a range of promotions that LEGO are calling Marvel: The Universe Unites.

Marvel Universe Unites Logo

LEGO haven’t set out the specific thresholds to qualify for each offer but as they are going to be running for a limited time I want to let you know now so that you can plan ahead.

I am not sure what the spend threshold to qualify for this promotion but it’s a great representation of the Milano in microscale.

You can find out more about each offer here.

LEGO Announces 76105 Hulkbuster: Ultron Edition

Did you see the recent Infinity War set announcement and think to yourself that the Hulkbuster was way too small? Well it seems LEGO agreed with them today announcing 76105 LEGO Superheroes Hulkbuster: Ultron Edition.

This massive UCS Hulkbuster features 1,363 pieces and stands over 25cm high.

HyperFocal: 0

Included are two different arm options that can be swapped out. You don’t just get the Hulkbuster itself, with the set coming with a wonderful display stand based on Tony Stark’s workshop. It’s a great way to display the model.

As expected with a UCS style set there is a detailed information plaque sticker.

Of course the Hulkbuster needs somebody to pilot it and in this case it’s Iron Man in his MK 43 armour. There is even a MK 43 sticker for when you are displaying the set.

I personally didn’t see this coming but I think the end result looks pretty good. Will you be getting this set when it’s released March 3rd (No VIP release)? I have sent off an email asking about the Australian RRP but haven’t heard back as yet. I’d expect this to be around $199.99 locally. Update: The Australian RRP is confirmed to be $199.99.

There are heaps of additional pictures and the full press release below.

Official Pictures of Infinity War Sets

Over the last few days picture of the new Infinity War sets have been popping up online. I had been waiting to see if they appeared on the LEGO server, as they are usually better resolution, but since everybody else is posting them I figured I’d share them for anybody who hasn’t already seen them.

There are 6 sets revealed all varying in size. It’s an interesting mix and I think the standout would have to be the Sanctum Santorum set. It’s a bit unexpected to get a large building in a Marvel set and I think it looks fantastic.

It’s possible that these sets contain movie spoilers but LEGO sets can vary wildly from what we see in the finished movie.

Here are the details…

76108 Sanctum Sanctorum Showdown

The largest of the sets revealed so far. Lots of interior and exterior detail. The set includes Doctor Strange, Iron Man, Iron Spider-Man, Cull Obsidian and Ebony Maw.

Official Pictures of Brick Headz Sets

The Brick Headz concept was first unveilled at San Diego ComicCon with a series of exclusive sets. While the exclusivity of the sets annoyed many we were promised that a full release was coming in 2017. Well LEGO have just uploaded pictures of the final sets to their server. There are 8 sets that we know of so far, and there are a few differences to the SDCC sets.

While the Marvel sets are based on the Marvel Cinematic Universe versions of the characters, The DC side of things is going LEGO Batman Movie over more traditional representations.

Overall I like the concept. Some sets seem to work better than others but I hope this succeeds and we see more. No word on pricing at this stage. Click on the image for larger versions, and click READ MORE to see the full list of 8 (if you can’t already).

2017 Marvel Mighty Micros Revealed

After getting a first look at the DC Mighty Micros for 2017 LEGO have just shared pictures of the Marvel line-up, and they look fantastic.

Iron Man vs. Thanos

2017 Marvel Mighty Micros Ironman vs Thanos

Wolverine vs. Magneto

Spider-Man vs. Scorpion

They all look great, but I suspect the Iron Man vs. Thanos set is going to be the most popular.

LEGO Marvel’s Avengers Game Launches Today

With the recent release of the latest LEGO Dimensions packs you may have forgotten that there is another LEGO game launching today – LEGO Marvel’s Avengers.

Marvel are owned by Disney (who make the Disney Infinity games) so we probably won’t be getting any Marvel characters in Dimensions. It’s a good thing then that the LEGO Avengers game looks pretty great as a standalone.

The game features story elements from a series of Marvel Cinematic Universe films; Marvel’s Avengers, Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron, Captain America: The First Avenger, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Thor: The Dark World and Iron Man 3. With so much content to feature the game should be packed with fun moments.

We have had a look around for the best prices for anybody looking to pick up a copy.

New Trailer For The Upcoming LEGO Avengers Game

LEGO Marvel Avengers Thumb

It’s a sad reality that licensing deals mean we probably won’t see any Marvel characters showing up in LEGO Dimensions. Luckily that doesn’t mean that we can’t still get a fun game with LEGO versions of the Avengers (and other Marvel characters).

The game will feature characters and story elements from six different Marvel films; The Avengers, Age of Ultron, Captain America: The First Avenger, Iron Man 3, Thor: The Dark World and Captain America: The Winter Soldier.

Warner Bros. have released a new trailer for LEGO Marvel’s Avengers and it looks like a great mix of action and humour.

LEGO Marvel’s Avengers is released in Australia on January 27, 2016. It will be available for Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, PlayStation Vita, Wii U, Nintendo 3DS and Windows PC.

Ant-Man Final Battle Not Being Released At Retail

Ant-Man is referred to as Marvel’s smallest superhero – and it appears the LEGO version is going to have the smallest possible release.

76039 Ant-Man Final Battle will not be made available to Australian retailers.

76039 No Retail Release

The set was listed in the retail catalogue as being released in June, but it never showed up. Initially there were reports that the set was delayed while some changes were made to make the set stronger. It would appear that those delays have changed into a very limited release.

We contacted LEGO about the set, and their response was

Item 76039: Ant-Man Final Battle will not be ranged in Australia and at this stage will only be available online through LEGO.com

Online availability is still better than we are getting for the Ultra Agents sets, but 76039 Ant-Man Final battle is a $39.99 set. Postage for that set alone would be $30, bringing the total to $69.99. Unless you are planning on getting some other sets too Ant-Man Final Battle is not a viable purchase.

The Ant-Man set looked great, and we are disappointed to see that it won’t be made available in Australian retail stores. If you feel the same way then we strongly suggest getting in touch with LEGO. Send them a tweet, post on their Facebook page or call Customer Service on 1800 683 100. You can always post in the comments too – we’ll be sure to pass on feedback to LEGO.

If you do want to purchase the set online, you can do so here http://shop.lego.com/en-AU/Ant-Man-Final-Battle-76039
