Set News From Nuremberg Toy Fair

Nuremberg 2016 Thumb

While the London Toy Fair doesn’t allow photos, the Nuremberg Toy Fair does. That means that there are a heap of photos online showing off a heap of the sets coming in the second half of 2016. Unfortunately we weren’t in Nuremburg ourselves so we don’t have our own photos to share but to save you some time we have compiled some links to where you can see the sets in more detail.

First up is Promobricks – over on their Facebook photo stream they have a heap of photos from the show. You can check them out here.

The second site is zusammengebaut.com – they have some great coverage from the show with lots of great photos and videos.

There are plenty of sets to be excited about, but we’ve picked out three that stood out…

New Set News From London Toy Fair

London Toy Fair 2016

The London Toy Fair is on at the moment and all of the European based LEGO sites are checking out the sets that are going to be released in the second half of 2016. Unfortunately the Bricking Around budget doesn’t extend to having a London correspondent but we have done up a listing of the new sets that have been announced.

Of course we don’t want to take away from the hard work of those who are at the show so there are a full list of sources at the end of the this article. Those sites have descriptions from people who are at the event and seen the sets in person (there are no photos allowed at the London Toy Fair).

The full list of sets and the sources are below.

New Star Wars And City Sets In Latest Big W Catalogue

BigW 200x200

The latest Big W catalogue doesn’t really count as a sale – it’s more of a highlight of the fact that new sets are in store now.

The catalogue reveals the everyday price for a range of Star Wars and City sets. As we’ve come to expect from Big W these prices are all a little lower than the regular RRP. While the catalogue only features a few items there should be some other items from the January release in stores now too.

We mentioned that this isn’t really a sale, but there are two Friends sets reduced…

41097 Heartlake Hot Air Balloon $28.00 (RRP $44.99, RRP Discount $16.99 or 38%)

41093 Heartlake Hair Salon $25.00 (RRP $44.99, RRP Discount $19.99 or 44%)

Both of these are great prices, so stock may sell quickly.

You can check out the full list of items included in the catalogue below, or view the catalogue yourself here.

More 2016 Sets Listed Online

After hearing that there were some more 2016 sets added to the Australian online LEGO store, we have done another check and compiled an updated list of all the new products.

We now have the Australian prices for over 80 new sets that will be released soon (some are December 26th 2015 others are January 1st 2016).

Unfortunately there are no images for some of these sets, but they should be added to the LEGO servers soon.

The list is quite long, so click Read More if you can’t see it below. You should also be able to filter the list if there is a particular theme/set you are interested in.

Gallery Of Sets From The New York Toy Fair

As you may have read from the UCS TIE Fighter post, the New York Toy Fair has just taken place. Unlike some other shows the LEGO products were quite open on display. Unfortunately we couldn’t make it ourselves but we have done a round-up of the set images that have been posted online.

The gallery contains pictures of sets from most themes, but of particular interest may be Scooby-Doo and Jurassic World – both new themes for the second half of 2015.

New Set Pictures From 2015 Nuremberg Toy Fair

After the London Toy Fair we were quite excited to hear about details of all the upcoming sets for the second half of 2015. Unfortunately the London event was quite strict on their security, and would not allow any photos to be taken.

Luckily, that is not the case at the 2015 Nuremberg Toy Fair. Images of most of the sets on display have started spreading round the web. After looking through several galleries we are certain that the second half of 2015 is going to be tough on our wallets.

News From The London Toy Fair

The London Toy Fair has wrapped up for 2015, and LEGO were in attendance to show off some of their up-coming products.

Unfortunately being an Australian LEGO site we didn’t get an invite. Rather than just re-post articles from the UK bloggers we have gone through a few different sources to collate basic information. For more detailed information (such as appearance of the sets) we suggest you check out the links at the end of the article.

On to the news;

Scooby Doo
Yes, Scooby Doo is confirmed. The sets should be released later this year. There were 5 different sets on display including the Mystery Machine and a large Mystery Mansion. The sets contain regular minifigures inspired by the traditional character designs. There will also be two different versions of Scooby. Reports indicate that there will not be a single set with all of the characters, which is unfortunate but not unexpected.

There will be two new City sub-themes for the second half of 2015.

First up is Deep Sea Explorers. After heading to the Arctic in 2014 we are pleased to hear that LEGO City is going to keep up the exploration. Sets include a mix of Submarines, Boats and Helicopters.

The second sub-theme is Space. LEGO City Space sets are always great, and the new wave includes a Spaceport and Space Starter Set.

Unfortunately the sets that were on display at the toy fair will be the last from this theme. We don’t think this theme has caught on as well as Ninjago, but we know that it was reasonably popular with kids.

Later this year the Friends characters are going to rock out with new addition Livi. Some of the new sets include a Limo and Tour Bus and Dressing Room. These certainly sound like they could contain some interesting parts.

Jurassic World
From what we have read the Dinosaurs will be very similar to the ones used in the most recent Dino theme. The sets include a range of dinosaurs such as T-Rex, Raptors and the “Ultra Dino” which appears to be the main monster of the film.

Star Wars
Unfortunately no news about Episode VII sets; our guess is that Disney is being very strict about not giving away any plot details. Sets on display included scenes and vehicles from the original trilogy and prequel trilogy. The most interesting sounding was 75093 Death Star Final Duel.

The second wave of Minecraft will include a Desert Outpost, Dungeon, Nether Fortress and Snow Hideout.

The new concept with Ninjago for 2015 is Airjitsu, which is described as spinners that fly. A product that sends ninja minifigures flying through the air sounds like it will be a hit with the target demographic.

There were sets based on the two big Marvel films of 2015; Age of Ultron and Ant Man. There are also non-movie related sets including a Spiderman set featuring Miles Morales version of the character and Carnage.

DC Comics
With Batman VS Superman not released until 2016 DC fans don’t have any movie related sets, but the ones announced do sound great. 76035 Jokerland has a fantastic line-up from the rouges gallery; Harley Quinn, Joker, Poison Ivy and Penguin. There is also Batman and Robin.

Ultra Agents
We originally thought this theme could be a once-off but it appears to be sticking around. The new sets include a new Ocean HQ for the team.

New Sets Announced At San Diego Comic Con

It’s that time of year again – San Diego Comic Con. As usual LEGO are using the event as an opportunity to announce new sets. They have been spreading the news around to different media outlets, so here is a quick wrap-up of what we have seen so far.

75084 Wookie Gunship

Part of the new Star Wars Rebels cartoon, this set looks great. Wookie minifigures are always popular.
