LEGO Certified Professional Ryan McNaught Is Hiring!

Ryan McNaught Hiring

Most Australian LEGO fans will be familiar with Ryan McNaught – Australia’s only LEGO Certified Professional. Well now LEGO lovers have a chance to join Ryan for 3-4 weeks of paid LEGO building. That wasn’t a mistake – you can actually get paid to build with LEGO.

There are 5 positions available, with the work starting on the 13th of October 2014. The work will take place in Ryan’s studio west of Melbourne. Applications (a single page PDF about yourself) need to be submitted by 5PM Monday 15th September 2014.

If you have some holiday time saved up with your current employer than now may be the time to take it.

Here are the full details via The Brickman website

Want to play with LEGO® bricks all day?

Now is your chance.

I am looking for 5 people to start on the 13th of October for 3-4 weeks of full time LEGO® brick building, so take some annual leave from your day job and do something super cool.

Based just over the Westgate in Melbourne’s west you will be working with our existing team on the coolest LEGO® project to hit Australian shores.

You will be physically building models with bricks, which means you need to have the skills to back it up, and we are talking not just building a LEGO® set or two, you need to be well drilled in the fine art of brickin’ it up.

You must be over 18 years of age be fully able to work autonomously under minimal supervision and be able to work to a deadline (yes that is secret HR speak for working late if needed – insert whip cracking sound)

You must be able to take instructions, learn from us and run with it.

Above award rates apply and who knows if you are good enough you may make the cut and stay on with the team.

We build in a fully industrial/construction style environment complete with an awful choice of radio station that plays too much Pearl Jam and Chilli Peppers so throw away the suit and tie.

What do you need to do?  A simple 1 page PDF document (only 1 page) telling us who you are and why we should take you on sent to jobs@thebrickman.com.

Applications close at 5pm on Monday the 15th of September.

Correspondence via the above e-mail address ONLY
You MUST be able to work a minimum of 2 weeks at any one time, preference will be given to those who are able to work the full period (as there is training involved before you start building)
No recruitment agencies.
No tyre kickers or time wasters.

Applicants must also be available for an interview after hours midweek in late September for our version of ‘Australia’s next top model – Builder’

Only successful applicants will be contacted.

Check Out The World’s Largest LEGO Darth Vader

MayThe4th

For those of you who couldn’t make it to the event themselves LEGO has just posted a video of the giant LEGO Darth Vader and Yoda models.

In case you missed the news about the event; these models were built by LEGO Master Model Builder Dan Steininger with help from Ryan McNaught (and a whole heap of Australian LEGO Fans) to celebrate Star Wars Day yesterday.

When we heard they were building a 4 metre Darth Vader we had no idea just how huge that actually was.

For those of our readers in the Penrith area – the models are still on display. You may have missed out on the build but you can still enjoy the finished product.
