The Australian Warehouse Is Now Fully Operational

au-warehouse

LEGO shared news last week that the Australian warehouse was now fully operational. I hadn’t posted that yet because there was one question I was waiting on clarification on and I’ve just got an answer today. Here’s the lowdown on the Australian warehouse.

Shipping Prices

This is unchanged from what has previously been reported. Orders over $149 will get free standard delivery. Orders under that threshold will be $12.50 for standard delivery.

Express shipping costs $30 for all orders.

Payment & International Transaction Fees

This is what I’d been trying to get an answer on and I’m pleased to tell you that all transactions are now processed locally. This means that you will no longer get a nasty surprise on your credit card for international transaction fees.

Unfortunately at this stage there are no plans to offer PayPal as a payment method.

Delivery Times

Here are LEGO’s official delivery estimates.

State
Standard Delivery Times
NSW1-3 business days
ACT1-2 business days
VIC1-3 business days
QLD1-4 business days
SA2-3 business days
NT2-7 business days
WA3-8 business days
TAS4-5 business days

Those times seem to be fairly accurate from what I have heard.

Promotions

Australia should generally be getting the same promotions as Europe, but this may vary slightly. Here’s LEGO’s official wording: “We will continue offering gifts and special offers. Sometimes they will coincide with the ones offered in Europe, and other times they could be unique.”

Pick-a-Brick Orders

All PaB orders will still be coming internationally and have longer delivery timeframes.

Overall I think these changes will make shopping from the online store a more realistic proposition for more products.

You can find more information on the shipping and handling page of the Australian store.

Double VIP Points & Bonus Minifigure Frame At LEGO Online

Two new offers from LEGO are now live on their online store.

Double VIP Points on all orders

double-vip-generic-600

From October 15th to October 31st get double the normal VIP Points on all purchases. With the lower free shipping threshold now is a great time to get something exclusive you’ve had your eye on.

Free Minifigure Collector Frame

Spend $85 or more to receive this exclusive LEGO minifigure display frame. The frame is made from cardboard with a 32×32 building plate, 49 elements, LEGO logo tile and an exclusive Beach Party Dude minifigure. The frame can display 16 minifigures in total. This offer also runs from October 15th to 31st.

This frame alone is a pretty nice bonus but in conjunction with the double VIP points it certainly makes for a tempting offer.

Free Mud Trooper Han Solo Now Available

A new month often means a new promotion on the Australian online LEGO store, and this one is likely to be popular with those of you who enjoyed the Han Solo movie.

Huge Shipping Changes For LEGO’s Australian Online Store

shipping-changes-thumb

Some people may have received an email recently saying that there order was being cancelled and re-sent from a new warehouse that handles Australian and New Zealand orders. This news about a new warehouse came as a surprise.

I have spoken to LEGO Australia and they have informed me that they will have more information about the new warehouse soon – but the new shipping pricing are now live on the online store.

Shipping has always been a huge barrier for buying smaller exclusives from LEGO, but these new prices are hopefully going to resolve that. Here’s what is different.

Lower Free Shipping Threshold

The free shipping threshold for Australian orders has been dropped from $200 to $149.

This should make slightly smaller orders qualify for free shipping easier. I also appreciate that the shipping threshold has been set to $149, rather than $150 as it means a $149.99 set (like the Winter Village Fire Station) will qualify without having to bump up your order.

Cheaper Regular Shipping

Shipping has always been overly expensive and essentially ruled out buying smaller items from LEGO directly, as it just wasn’t worth it. These new shipping prices will help with that.

Standard shipping is now just $12.50 for all orders under $149.

Express Shipping is now $30 for all orders.

I am impressed that LEGO have lowered the free shipping threshold and made shipping more affordable.

You can read more about the new prices and options at the official shipping page at LEGO’s online store.

Free Cute Pug From LEGO Online

cute-pug-lego-online

The Cute Pug polybag has technically been available at Woolworths stores for a while now but I know that a lot of you have had trouble tracking it down.

If that’s you then you may be interested to know that it is now being given out for free with LEGO Online orders over $55.

This offer is valid for orders online at shop.LEGO.com and telephone orders from 18th August to 2nd September 2018, or while stocks last. Qualifying purchase must be equal to or greater than $55 in LEGO merchandise only. This offer is not available at LEGOLAND Discovery Centre Melbourne or Dreamworld LEGO Store.

The Hogwarts Express Is Going To Be Delayed

What is it with trains and long annoying delays?

It seems that 75955 Hogwarts Express was originally destined to be a Toys R Us exclusive. With Toys R Us coming to a close it means that we won’t see a retail release of the Hogwarts Express until November, and then it seems only at specialty toy stores.

This information comes from Outer Rim Trading Co, one of those specialty retailers that will eventually be stocking the set.

Buying this set directly from LEGO online may be an alternative, although at $139.99 you’ll need to spend more to get to the $200 free shipping threshold. The set will be released online here at some time tomorrow.

Both the Dreamworld Certified Store and LEGOLAND Discovery Centre Melbourne should also have stock of this set.

Free Party Banana From LEGO Online

A new promotion launched on the Australian online LEGO store a few days ago and it’s a bit of a strange one.

Spend over $45 and you’ll receive a free Party Banana minifigure.

5005250-party-banana

The Party Banana comes with a banana suit minifigure, a wonderfully decorated boombox and a display box.

The offer is running until July 29th, so will hopefully be a nice bonus for anybody grabbing Voltron on July 23rd.

This is an online promotion and not available at LEGOLAND Discovery Centre Melbourne or the Dreamworld Certified Store.

Double VIP Point Offer Now Active

Double VIP Thumb New

I can’t think of a better way to celebrate the new financial year than with a Double VIP point offer from the Australian online LEGO store.

From today (June 30th) until July 7th you will receive double VIP points on all orders.

Double VIP point periods are always a great time to pick up something that you can’t find in stores.

Maybe this will get you over the line for a 42083 Bugatti Chiron, or perhaps it means a 10261 Roller Coaster or even a 75181 Y-Wing Starfighter.

Of course, you could also opt for something that we may never see in stores here, like a Hot Dog Guy plush.

New Offers From LEGO Online

LEGO have just rolled out two new offers on the Australian online store. These may just be enough to push you over the line on those exclusives you’ve had your eyes on.

Australian Details of All The New Sets Coming In June

While I have been at home with the flu LEGO have been busy updating their online store with over 40 sets due for release shortly.

These sets are all marked as June releases online but quite often the actual retail release schedule is different. I don’t currently have a retail catalogue to give you a breakdown on when each set will be in stores but as soon as I can track that info down I will be sure to share it.

If you are just interested in the list jump straight to the end of the article.

There is a lot to love in this line-up. Obviously the big news is the follow-up to Ninjago City, 70657 Ninjago City Docks which has an Australian RRP of $349.99.

70657

Architecture returns with two global icons; 21041 Great Wall of China for $79.99 and 21042 Statue of Liberty for $149.99.

There are two new Elves sets on offer. The massive 41196 The Elvenstar Tree Bat Attack looks great.

Creator has 4 sets in the line-up but the most popular may be 31084 Pirate Roller Coaster at $119.99. A lot cheaper than the Creator Expert option.

31084

The new sub-theme for Friends is racing and it features some great sets such as 41352 The Big Race Day for $79.99. There are also some non-racing Friends sets such as 41347 Heartlake City Resort.

Unikitty! is going to be a polarising theme but I must admit that some of the sets look interesting. 41456 Unikingdom Fairground Fun sees the return of purple coaster tracks.

City sees things return to the arctic with sets in a range of price points. Interestingly 60194 Arctic Scout Truck can be integrated with Boost.

60194

Back in regular LEGO City we finally have a new Hospital – 60204 LEGO City Hospital for $159.99. There is also a new city centre set in 60200 Capital City.

60204

Ninjago’s 70652 Stormbringer is another set with Boost integration.

I’ve included a link to each set so you can check out extra details of the ones you are interested in. Here’s the full list…
