On Sale – Target Offering 20% Off Toys Today Only

Target One Day Super Sale

It looks like we may have an explanation for the Simpsons House pricing we saw online last night.

Target has just started a surprise One Day Super Sale. For today (Saturday 24th May 2014) only they are offering 20% off all toys. This sale is running in-store and online.

Update On The Simpsons Minifigures At Target

The Simpsons Minifigures Target

Last night we checked our local Target store to see if the price of The Simpsons Minifigures had been updated.

We are pleased to report that these correctly scanned at $5.

We checked this last night before the 20% off sale kicked off, so from today (15th May 2014) you should be able to pick these up for just $4 each. In just a few days Target has gone from the most expensive place to buy The Simpsons Minifigures to one of the cheapest.

This photo was taken at the Forest Lake, QLD store. Let us know in the comments below if your store has still not fixed the price.

On Sale: 20% Off LEGO At Target

Target 20 Percent Off May 2014

We suspected that we may see some toy sales following on from Mother’s Day, and it looks like we were right.

From Thursday 15th May until Wednesday 21st May 2014 Target is offering 20% off all LEGO sets.

We know that there may be some ill will towards Target after recent Simpsons Minifigures price issue, but a 20% off sale is always a good way to pick up sets. This could be the last LEGO sale that we see from Target before the big Toy Sale in June.

There are also a few Super Hero sets with a slightly higher discount

76016 LEGO Spider Helicopter Rescue – $59, Save $20 (25.3%)
76011 LEGO Batman Man-Bat Attack – $31, Save $8 (20.5%)
76012 LEGO Batman The Riddler Chase – $39, Save $10 (20.4%)
76013 LEGO Batman The Joker Steamroller – $59, Save $20 (25.3%)

Target Corrects The Simpsons Minifigures Price

Well that didn’t take long! Following on from our post this morning we have just received the following tweet from Target Australia;

We’re calling this one as a win for LEGO fans everywhere! Now we just need a 20% off sale to make the price even better.

Target Selling The Simpsons Minifigures Above RRP

Target Pay More

If you go to the Target Australia website you will notice that their logo proudly proclaims “Get more. Pay less.”. Unfortunately that isn’t true when it comes to The Simpsons LEGO Minifigures.

Target Australia is selling these minifigures for $6 each, which is $1 more than the Australian RRP (based on the http://shop.lego.com/en-AU/LEGO-Minifigures-The-Simpsons-Series-71005 price). Sure, $1 doesn’t make a lot of difference in the scheme of things, but at Bricking Around we are all about LEGO fans getting the best price. It’s also possible that this could be the start of a worrying trend where in-demand products are sold at higher prices.

We know that our readers are savvy shoppers. Unfortunately there are LEGO fans out their that won’t know any better. That’s why we are asking everybody to get involved.

Here is what you can do:

  • Share this story with as many people as you can. The more people that know the better. We need to send a message to Target that inflated prices are not something Australian consumers will stand for. Let’s stop the problem before they apply the same thing to bigger sets.
  • Buy elsewhere. Outer Rim has the minifigures for $3.99 each. Big W, Kmart, David Jones, Myer and Toys ‘R’ Us are all selling these for RRP of $4.99. Shopforme has them for $5.
  • Price match in store. If Target is your closest store then don’t be afraid to ask for a fair price. Price matching is at the discretion of the store itself and there is no official Target policy, so this may not work for everybody.
  • Tell Target you aren’t happy with their pricing. We have included various contact methods below. If enough people tell them then maybe we can get them to change their price.

We know that RRP only means Recommended Retail Price, and that Target can charge what they like. We still think that for a product that is widely available charging above RRP is a bit unfair.

On Sale: 20% Off Toys At Target

Target 20 Percent Off April 2014

Right on schedule, another School Holiday/Easter toy sale appears.

Target is currently offering 20% off all toys, which of course includes LEGO. The sale is on now (April 10, 2014) and unlike most of their 20% off sales, is running for two weeks (until April 23, 2014).

There are a few sets specifically listed in the catalogue, but they are all just the regular 20% off, with the exception of 31025 Creator Mountain Hut. The Mountain Hut is featured for just $45, which is a $14 or 23% saving over their standard price.

On Sale – 20% Off Toys At Target For 2 Weeks

Target 20 Percent Off March 2014

Looks like a new 20% off sale is about to kick off. From the 13th to the 26th of March Target is offering 20% off all toys, including LEGO.

These sales are usually only on for a single week, so a two week long sale is a bit of a treat.

You can view the catalogue here

If you are planning on taking advantage of this sale, don’t forget that you can get a free kids movie ticket when you spend $60 or more on LEGO.

On Sale – 20% Off Star Wars And Superheroes At Target

Target 20 Percent Off Star_wars Super_heroes

On Sale: New Offers At Target

Target 25 Percent Off Online B2G1F

Target is running another sale on Toys, but this one is a little bit different – It’s actually two different sales.

The first offer is a straight 25% off all toys online.
You can check out all of the available LEGO here

The second offer is 3 For 2 (buy two sets, get a third for free). This offer is only available in store.

Both of these sales end Wednesday 29 January.

There have also been reports that the 3 for 2 offer applies on top of the existing 20% off sale, this potentially means you can get 3 sets for the price of two discounted sets. That’s a pretty good deal.
