70917 The Ultimate Batmobile Revealed

LEGO have used the opening weekend of The LEGO Batman Movie (elsewhere) to unveil details of the next set from the film – 70917 The Ultimate Batmobile.

The set features a huge Batmobile which can become four separate vehicles. Also included is a Bat-signal and eight minifigures.

No Australian price as yet, but expect this set to be up to at least $149.99 when it is released in June.

I’ve added a pixelated version of the picture first up as the minifigures may constitute a bit of a spoiler for the film.

There Are 39 Countries Where You Could See The LEGO Batman Movie This Weekend

LEGO Batman Movie Thumb

According to the release information on IMDB there are 39 countries where you can see the LEGO Batman Movie this weekend. It’s actually more than that because it lists the UK as combined entry.

Unfortunately Australia is not one of those countries.

While the wonderful people of Kazakhstan sit back and enjoy the film with a nice bucket of buttery popcorn those of us here in Australia will have to wait.

Unfortunately Village Roadshow have decided that there is no possible way Australians would see a “kids” movie any time of the year other than school holidays. It seems that the people at Village Roadshow failed to predict that a massive heatwave would hit the East Coast of Australia and send families hunting for any form air conditioning. It really would be a perfect weekend to take your kids to see a movie. I’ve heard good things about Moana.

February Offer From LEGO Online

Batman Polybag February

After a slight delay the February offer from the online LEGO store is now active, and it probably won’t be a surprise to discover that it’s Batman themed.

Spend over $100 and get a free “Disco Batman & Tears of Batman”. That’s right, not one but two Batmans (or Batmen?).

Both figures look fantastic and will certainly add to your collection of Batman minifigures.

With so many new sets it shouldn’t be hard to get to that $100 threshold.

Here is a better look at the minifigures:

Warning – LEGO Batman Movie Spoilers Are Out

LEGO Batman Movie Thumb

Over the weekend preview screenings for The LEGO Batman Movie took place in regions where the film is released soon. These preview screenings mean that there are a heap of reviews and opinions online.

With the Australian release of the film not until March 30th we have a long wait to try and avoid spoilers. Here are a few tips;

If you can resist the temptation don’t read any reviews, if you can’t resist then try and find reviews that specifically mention that they are spoiler free.

Don’t read the comments
Nothing good happens in comment sections. Even a review that is spoiler free can have a jerk posting spoilers in the comments.

Social media
This morning the LEGO Facebook page had a post about the film. With over a hundred comments there are sure to be people discussing key plot points. Any twitter hashtags are likely to also be a minefield.

Be careful what you Google
This one got me with The LEGO Movie. I googled the name of the movie to try and find something. The top result was a news article spoiling the end of the movie.

If possible try and use more words in your searches for example “LEGO Batman Movie Sets Big W” instead of just “The LEGO Batman Movie”.

Good luck out there

On Sale: 20% Off At Myer

Myer Logo Generic 200px

I can’t find any details about the offer on the Myer website but right now they have 20% off LEGO.

Unfortunately I don’t have the details of when the sale runs, exclusions or if this is in-store as well. I’ll update with more information when I have it.

What I do know is that several of the LEGO Batman Movie sets are listed at 20% off. These aren’t officially due out until February, but it appears we’ve now crossed over into sets at discount prices even before they are released.

You can view the full LEGO range here, or if you are just after the Batman sets they are here.

Update: I’ve been informed by Chris that currently there is a glitch on the Myer site causing you to ALSO receive the $15 off per $75 spent. That makes for some great savings on larger orders.

Thanks to Chris A for telling me about this sale

The LEGO Batman Movie Minifigure Series Looks Amazing

In case you didn’t already know, there is a LEGO Batman Movie hitting screens early next year. Obviously any sort of LEGO movie is going to have associated sets (we’ve already seen the LEGO Batman Movie sets) but not everybody predicted a series of Collectible Minifigures to go along with the film.

The LEGO Facebook page has last night revealed official pictures of the 20 minifigures you’ll be feeling around for in early 2017.

These minifigures look fantastic.
