myer-logo-white-220

Myer has a new catalogue out with a discount on 3 themes. It’s very narrow but could be of interest to some of you.

The included themes are City, Friends and Jurassic World.

I’m not sure how much Jurassic World stuff will still be around in stores.

This sale runs from today (April 9th) until April 28th and being a catalogue sale it will be available both online and in-store.

You can view the Myer LEGO range here.

The LEGO Movie 2 Coins

Myer are also offering a collection of LEGO Movie 2 coins. The coins feature characters from the LEGO Movie 2 and come in a blind bag. A collector case is also available.

  • In-store you will get 1 coin for every $25 you spend.
  • Online you will only get two coins when you spend $50 or more. Even if you spend $500 online you’ll only get two coins.

Thanks to Regan for the photo of the coins.

The Bulbous & The Beautiful – Reviewing The Systar Starship

70830-systar-starship-hyperdrive-cover

What would you say if I told you that my top pick for spaceship of the year was a spunky little ball from the Systar System? I almost don’t believe it myself.

While local factories have been closing across the sector the Systar shipbuilders have started to gain ground as more pilots seek out ships that are fun without sacrificing any performance. While the traditionalists are still clamouring for the latest yellow windscreened cruiser, this ship is innovating in some really exciting ways. Look beyond the heart shaped accents and you’ll find something really interesting.

With its bold curves this ship is not going to appeal to everybody – I admit it does kind of look like an onion. The overall shape is very bulbous and a big departure from the sleek designs of other companies. I found that the reduced aerodynamics did have an impact on takeoff times when you are launching within an atmosphere, but once you are in open space the shape makes very little difference.

Three More LEGO Movie 2 Sets Revealed

tlm2-thumb

LEGO has taken to their social media channels to reveal three new sets from The LEGO Movie 2.

These sets reference scenes that are not seen in the trailers so depending on your level of acceptance of spoilers you may want to avoid these pics for now.

Having seen the movie I can say that they don’t reveal any twists or give away any critical plot points.

These sets aren’t listed on the Australian website just yet so I don’t have any local pricing or release dates.

You can find the details of the sets below.

Here’s All The Cinemas Doing Preview Screenings of The LEGO Movie 2 This Weekend

tlm2-thumb

As a metaphorical olive branch to those of us angry about The LEGO Movie 2′s official release date of March 21st, Roadshow are running a series of special preview screenings this weekend (Febuary 9th & 10th).

These dates line up perfectly with the official US release and should help us all avoid the horror of spoilers.

I have got in touch with Roadshow and they were kind enough to provide the below list of all the cinemas running preview screenings. Hopefully this will help you find somewhere near you.

Announcing 70840 Welcome to Apocalypseburg!

The LEGO Ninjago Movie lead to two large sets that were both absolutely fantastic and it seems that The LEGO Movie 2 is following in the same footsteps with this outstanding looking set.

Introducing 70840 Welcome to Apocalypseburg!

70840_prod

The set features Apocalypseburg, as seen in the trailers for the film. This post-apocalyptic setting features a Planet of the Apes inspired Statue of Liberty setting with a whole bunch of fun additions such as the Coffee Unchained coffee shop. There is also Scribble Cop’s office, armory, barber’s/tattoo parlor, Lucy’s hideout, Fuse’s workshop, rooftop diner, gym, spa and lookout platforms.

Filling out the set are 12 amazing minifigures. There’s post-apocalyptic versions of heaps of characters from the LEGO Movie, including a battle hardened “Where are my pants?” guy and chainsaw Dave (formely surfer Dave).

What do you think so far? I’m liking the post-apocalyptic setting. That could lead to some interesting sets.

The LEGO Movie Sequel Gets A Name and Logo

The official title of the highly anticipated LEGO Movie sequel has been revealed on social media overnight, along with a fancy logo.

LEGO Movie 2 Logo

The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part is scheduled for release in February 2019, but from past experience I am not going to be at all surprised if it is further delayed here in Australia.

What do you think of the name and logo? I like that the logo built on the first one, that’s what LEGO is all about.
