Celebrate Star Wars Day With The World’s Largest LEGO Unboxing

As we all know, this year marks the 20th Anniversary of LEGO Star Wars, and what better day to celebrate this special anniversary than Star Wars Day – May The 4th?

This year LEGO Australia will be hosting the world’s largest LEGO Star Wars unboxing event at Westfield Chatswood (Anderson Street, Chatswood NSW 2067). The event takes place on May 4th and May 5th.

In an action-packed weekend, fans will help LEGO’s Certified Professional (and LEGO Masters Judge) Ryan McNaught unwrap and assemble a surprise, super-sized LEGO Star Wars model. Visitors will also get a once in a lifetime chance to meet LEGO Star Wars Creative Director Jens Kronvold Frederikson who’s flying down under from LEGO HQ in Billund, Denmark for the occasion.

There will be prizes for best-dressed attendees donning their favourite Star Wars costumes, along with workshops with Jens, Star Wars trivia and the opportunity to see the 501st Legion in the flesh.

WHAT: The World’s Largest LEGO Star Wars Unboxing
WHERE: Westfield Chatswood

Sydney is gearing up for the city’s biggest ever festive season, with the exciting addition of a magical LEGO® Christmas Tree built entirely out of LEGO bricks, from 27 November to 27 December 2014 at Westfield Sydney.

Built especially for LEGO fans by Australia’s very own LEGO Certified Professional, Ryan McNaught, the breathtaking tree will stand close to 10m tall and will be built from close to half a million LEGO bricks making it the biggest LEGO Christmas Tree ever seen in the Southern Hemisphere.

Accompanying the model will be a life-sized Santa and sleigh, and a very special build designed by one lucky young LEGO Club Member, all made entirely from LEGO bricks. Together with the tree, these colourful models will make up a stunning LEGO Christmas themed set, bound to delight LEGO fans of all ages.

To add a touch of sparkle, the LEGO Christmas Tree will come to life every night with a light show set to Christmas music (from approximately 8pm).

This awe-inspiring tree will be part of the wider City of Sydney Christmas celebrations, which will include elaborate decorations, a series of free concerts, fireworks and a special visit from Santa himself. The LEGO Christmas Tree will be officially launched on Thursday, November 27 as part of the citywide celebrations. So come along and be a part of this once-in-a-lifetime Christmas experience and be inspired to build your LEGO Christmas!
