Some readers may have noticed that LEGO’s online store has a new page stating that they are offering free shipping all year round. The offer was originally set to expire at the start of September, so I thought I would check that this new “year round” offer actually applied to Australia.
I sent a tweet to The LEGO Group (@LEGO_Group) with a simple message … Does the free delivery all year round apply in Australia?
After a few days I finally got a response … Yes it does
But that’s where things get a little strange. The reply from LEGO appears to have been completely deleted. I can find no trace of it anywhere other than the email I received. I don’t want to sound like a crazy conspiracy theorist (It’s possible that it just a glitch with twitter) but it is worth pointing out the terms of the offer: LEGO Group reserves the right to cancel or modify this promotion at any time without advance notice.
Enjoy the offer (it is quite a good one) while it lasts, but be aware that it may not last forever.
Update: I received a second reply from LEGO
Hi Michael, not sure what happened but yes, the offer is valid in Australia too on purchases above $150
Hopefully this is confirmation that the free shipping is a permanent change. The shipping & handling page has not been updated to reflect the change (the US version has) but this has probably just been missed.
