Clearly Toys ‘R’ Us are predicting strong sales of 71006 The Simpsons House. They have started taking pre-orders for online sales of the set, and they are making it quite clear that stock is limited.
The expected shipping date is late May or early June and the set is priced at the Australian RRP of $329.99. Based on our Brisbane address shipping was a very reasonable $9 (this may vary for other locations).
Those fans wanting to pick one up in store may want to call their local store and see if they are also taking in-store pre-orders. This set seems to sell out quickly.
Please beware of TRU mail order! In my case, three orders, three squashed boxes. Small sets sent in plastic courier bags with NO packaging (!), bigger set came in a massive box with no packaging, and the box was kinked in the middle like somebody had dropkicked it. I eventually received boxed replacements after sending them back at their expense, but I’d suggest that you save yourself hassle. They apparently have no intention of changing their ways of packing, according to a service rep, as few bother to complain.
