We had read some reports about a Bricktober event taking place at Toys R Us stores in the US, and we crossed our fingers and hoped that Australians would get something similar.
The latest Toys R Us catalogue has the answers – Australian LEGO fans will have a chance to grab one of four exclusive Mini Modular sets when they spend $100 on LEGO. These sets appear to be a different scale to the 10230 Mini Modulars set, but still look great. We have included larger images of the four sets at the end of this article.
From the terms and conditions it appears that the offer is one set per $100 spend. The sets are also given a retail price of $14.99 but the terms do not make it clear if they can be purchased separately or not. We have asked Toys R Us for clarification.

We received a response from Toys R Us about availability;
The Bonus Lego Building Sets will be available to purchase separately. Unfortunately these are not currently available online, only in store.These retail for $14.99 each.

They are pathetic! Worth $5 at the most.
I have had a quick look and I believe they work out at around $0.09 a piece, which isn’t too bad, considering that these are exclusive sets. It looks like they are using fairly common parts, so it may be possible to order the parts for cheaper than $14.99.
I like these a lot, they make a great little desk display. Any idea if they are offering these with online purchases as well? Will they automatically be added to the cart once you get over $100?
Today I wanted to purchase the sets separately only to be told by the Belconnen store that it is only given away with purchase of $100. Very disappointing!
Very unfortunate. It certainly appears to be mixed. Some stores are doing it while other have chosen not to.
No special parts, only reason i would buy it is for the box. Apart from that waste of money buying it unless free. Just bricklink the parts!
