LEGO Ideas Review Results For Second Half of 2014

The latest LEGO Ideas review results have just been released, and we now know what the next two LEGO Ideas products will be.

Wall-E

The project from Angus MacLane, a Pixar animator and director, will see the cute yellow robot rendered with LEGO Bricks. We are not surprised to see this product make it through the review. LEGO already has existing agreements in place with Disney, and the model appears to fit into the preferred sizing for Ideas sets.

We don’t have final images of the model yet, but it’s unlikely to be significantly different from the fan submitted version.

Doctor Who

During the last review LEGO said they were still considering the possibility of a Doctor Who project, and they have used the latest review announcement to confirm that LEGO Doctor Who will be happening. If there was a Venn diagram of people who love the Doctor and people who love LEGO, we suspect the overlap would be quite large.

Some people may not like the idea of more licensed sets, but we can see this set flying off shelves.

We don’t know the details of the final model yet. It’s likely that the BBC will want the product to feature the current, Peter Capaldi, version of the Doctor rather than Matt Smith or David Tennant. If we are really lucky we might get several versions, but that will obviously push the pricing up.
