As most of you will already know, Star Wars Day (May The 4th) is fast approaching. To help celebrate Star Wars and LEGO fans of all ages are invited to celebrate the world of LEGO Star Wars at a building event on the 2nd and 3rd of May at Westfield Southland.
To mark this special event, LEGO Australia is flying in the world’s only father and son LEGO Master Builder duo direct from the US, Dan and Chris Steininger. You may recognise the name Dan Steininger – Dan was here last year to celebrate Star Wars Day. You can check out our interview with him here.
This year Dan and his son Chris will be building Hans Solo’s mighty Millennium Falcon™ and two fearsome TIE Fighters™ out of LEGO bricks. You will be able to choose your side and help the Master Builders build either the Millennium Falcon™ or the TIE Fighters™ in the ultimate battle between good and evil.
The Millennium Falcon™ model will stretch approximately 4 metres wide and use almost 200,000 LEGO bricks making it the biggest Millennium Falcon™ model ever built from LEGO bricks in the world. Soaring in fierce pursuit will be the two formidable TIE Fighter™ models, each standing at approximately 2m high and built from close to 40,000 LEGO bricks each.
Once completed, the three models will be set against a stellar backdrop, allowing fans to interact with the models and re-enact their own version an epic Star Wars battle scene.
In addition, there will be exciting new sets from the extensive LEGO Star Wars range on display as well as sneak previews of the new animated series, LEGO Star Wars Droid Tales and Star Wars Rebels episodes. Over the two days, there will also be Star Wars trivia and LEGO speed building challenges with plenty of prizes for up for grabs.
Also, come dressed as your favourite Star Wars character for the chance to win a LEGO Star Wars™ goodie bag.
Saturday May 2nd – 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Sunday May 3rd – 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM
