Shopforme Retail Store Hit By Thief

At Bricking Around we are big fans of Melbourne based retailer Shopforme. We quite regularly cover their various blitz sales as they can offer some great deals.

Unlike some retailers Shopforme isn’t completely online; they also have two physical stores in Melbourne. Unfortunately the East Brunswick store was recently hit by a lone thief.

The masked criminal broke in to the store on October 16th and made off with approximately $10,000 worth of merchandise (not just LEGO products).

We can’t embed the video here, but you can check it out on the 7News website.

Oh no this is pretty horrible… I love that shop so much and I use to shop there. All the best out there to the shop owner and you still have my support!!

Any details of what Lego sets were stolen? I bet they will appear on Gumtree or eBay in the next day or so… a single seller who puts that batch of sets up for sale (BNIB) would be very suspicious in my eyes.. and bet avoided.

I have been hunting the Pet Store 10218 over the weekend and its amazing how many shops said to me “The computer shows we have stock, but that was stolen yesterday”. One store told me that they found the empty box and figured that someone emptied the contents into a pram (or similar) and walked out – coincidentally that same Lego set in on Gumtree right now “Brand New – in brown box”.

I really hope that Shopforme has some positive resolution, until then I guess the best way to support them is to keep shopping there.

I was really disappointed to see this as I’m often in there and they seem like great people. Not sure what was stolen but some of the sets that were in that store would be very hard to replace.
