Pricing Glitch On Australian Online Store

There seems to be a major glitch with the Australian online LEGO store – well we hope that it’s a glitch.

After adding items to your cart the price will be increased. This isn’t just adding extra tax as the amount seems higher.

LEGO Online Glitch (That set should only be $79.99)

With a lot of highly anticipated sets released today, hopefully this is fixed soon.

Thanks to Brett for letting us know about this

I’m hoping it’s a glitch! I’ve had the Ewok village in cart for a few days and it’s gone from $389 to $435 🙁

i spoke to them about 30min ago and said it should be fixed in a few hours, hold tight!

Thanks John. I didn’t think there would be anybody there today.

I just rang customer service a few minutes ago. The lady told me that they are aware of the problem, and that they have technicians working on atm, and should have it fixed within 24 hours or so. She said she isn’t exactly sure what is causing the problem, but told me I should refrain from confirming the order until the issue is fixed. I’m trying to get the Firehouse Headquarters, which is gone up from $499.99 to $622.21, so I’m definitely not going to risk paying an extra $122.22 for it.

And tbh, I’m not entirely surprised they are having issues, they had issues with their website on the 1st January 2015 as well, due to a large number of sets becoming available then as well. Its not exactly the most stable of websites under heavy load, they should really look into improving that, either by temporarily renting more servers or not releasing all the new sets on the same day.

Thanks for confirming that, I was surprised when all the prices jumped.

well i ordered one anyway.. i will hold off ordering the any more, but I just didn’t trust they will get the site fixed quickly, hopefully they will. And hopefully i’m not charged $622.21 for the Firehouse HQ now like I agreed to! lol

I spoke to customer service and they advised me not to do that (order and pay, then hope for a refund…) Still an issue at 4pm. I think it will right itself at midnight, when all the sets become available at other worldwide shops. Did anyone notice the sets that were available on the 31st December, change to “coming soon”, then actually become available to add to cart at after midnight?

LEGO are a huge company. No way they would let anyone get overcharged through them when it wasnt the intended rrp. That would simply be bad press. The inconvenience though is we may initially get charged the full amount before they work out the difference. What I didn’t want to chance was other regions not having this issue and then HQ being out of stock. Sure, it would only be a couple more weeks wait until its in stock again, but ive been waiting wayy too many years for something like this bad boy to not snap it up the instant it goes up.

Saw the coming soon thing – that was odd too.

Well it definitely isnt regional – but universal. I just checked out the UK store and the HQ is a very reasonable £622 rather than £275, equating to $1,260. The extra I paid seems like a bargain in that regard. These products arent going anywhete unless people are mad such as myself.

On a side note: I have just put my order through for the £622 on the UK site juat in case the Australian one doesn’t go through.

Anyone know if there will be a January offer from the Australian online LEGO store?

Just noticed this. Prepare your wallets!

Existing orders seem to have been corrected. Mine now shows $499.99
I wasn’t able to place an order until 10am not sure what was going on there.

one more factor to consider with paying the increased amount now and then get a refund on the difference – when your bank charges the international transaction fee (don’t get me started on that) it will be on the higher amount, so when you get refunded the difference from Lego, you won’t get the difference in bank fee back (granted not that it will be much)

Anyone know when Aussie stores will have the new super heroes sets? Worth getting now or will they be in stores soon?

Anyone else finding it’s still flaky? The prices are right but it keeps dropping me back to the front page (for example when applying VIP points or attempting checkout).

Yeah – can happen if you’ve been logged in for a while – log out, close browser and re-open, usually fixes for me – oh and I use chrome and this still happens for me occasionally…
