LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens Announced

The Force Awakens is undoubtedly a massive hit and if the availability of some sets is an indication then The Force Awakens LEGO sets are also a hit. It doesn’t really come as a surprise then to learn that a new LEGO Star Wars game based on the new film will be coming out in June this year.

The LEGO Star Wars games are some of the most popular LEGO games produced and a new entry in the series is exciting for fans. The launch trailer gives plenty of hints that the game will feature the humour that has become a trademark of the game.

As well as retelling the story of the film the game will also include exclusive new story levels that takes place between Star WarsReturn of the Jedi and the new film. There is a great lineup of playable characters including Rey, Finn, Poe Dameron, Han Solo, Chewbacca, C-3PO, and BB-8, as well as Kylo Ren, General Hux and Captain Phasma.

The game will be released in Australian on June 29 2016 and will be available for Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS3, 3DS, PS4, Wii U, PS Vita and PC.

UPDATE: EB Games will be selling a Deluxe Edition of the game (for PS4 and Xbox One) that comes with an exclusive Finn minifigure. Both versions are available for pre-order now. Also at EB Games – all pre-order customers will receive a Star Destroyer polybag. [Thanks JigglePhysx for sharing that in the comments]

Is there any word yet on whether we will get the Finn polybag pre-order offer that certain US retailers are offering for PS4 and XBox One versions of the game?

Thanks JigglePhysx! $109…ouch! I’m sure the game will sell for ~$59 on launch so I can’t really see $50 value in the two polybags. I could be wrong but I think I’ll try my luck on the secondary market for the Finn polybag.

Yeah bummer about the price, deluxe edition does include the season pass as well… Though don’t know what that’s worth.

Sometimes places like Mighty Ape get the same editions as EB games and are usually much more reasonably priced.

Here is a thought (mightbe a bit morally grey). Could you pre-order the Deluxe Edition, pickup the game with the polybags, return the game and keep the polybags?

No. I’m pretty sure they would be all over that one. I suspect the Finn polybag will be inside the deluxe packaging anyway. Nothing stopping you from selling the sealed game though if you only want the polybags. It should still fetch an ok price as it comes with the season pass unlike the vanilla version. Alternatively you could just pick up the polybags on bricklink or EBay.

Really want that mini fig – but the $109 is an outrage. EB is just too expensive now days.
