LEGO have updated the Australian store with their May The 4th offer. While we get this exclusive minifigure there doesn’t seem to be any discounts on offer (like other regions).
To get your bonus offer you will need to spend $100 or more on any Star Wars product between now (April 30th) and May 7th.

As someone who has just recently signed up for the VIP program and is learning about the kinds of promotion the Lego shop has, I must say I’m pretty disappointed. An uninspired promotional minifigure and no bonus VIP points for May 4th – seemingly contrary to the rest of the world!
Add this rather pedestrian Hoth set to the mix… Well I guess enough’s been said about that. Not having many UCS sets, I SO wanted to want this but it’s a pass. It’s got me considering the Sandcrawler instead – anyone happen to have that set and have an opinion?
The sandcrawler is a great set, you wouldn’t be disappointed.
The Sandcrawler is great but I would wait for 2 x VIP points or a better promotional deal. We need to vote with our wallets on the rubbish May the 4th “deal” we get here compared to the rest of the world. The notion that it’s expensive to ship here is BS. The threshold for free shipping is already much higher ($200 AUD vs $100 USD) and the prices of the sets are higher to begin with. We didn’t get discounts last year either so I’m not surprised but we did prior to that.
Couldn’t agree more, Mark. I said the exact same thing to a friend earlier. I’m not purchasing anything this round.
Ok. So it looks like Lego Australia might be listening to consumers. They now have 10% off on all Star Wars sets (with the exception of Assault on Hoth). Admittedly its not as good as the discounts local retail stores routinely offer but once you factor in VIP points and the promotional minifig its not bad. Now would definitely be the time to get the Sandcrawler if you were considering it. With the 5% added value in VIP points that’s the best local price I’ve seen, and you get a bonus minifig!
