It’s Real – LEGO Announces New UCS Millennium Falcon

There is a line in The Force Awakens that I think is appropriate here… “It’s true, all of it”. After months and months of rumours, speculation, fake leaks, teasers and even some real leaks LEGO have today announced the largest ever LEGO set.

Introducing 75192 Millennium Falcon

It’s hard to put in words just how amazing this set is. Here are the key points:

  • The set has 7,541 pieces.
  • Same external dimensions as the previous version
  • It comes with two sets of minifigures – Han Solo, Chewbacca, Princess Leia and C-3PO based on Empire Strikes Back. From the sequel trilogy there is Older Han Solo, Rey and Finn.
  • The exterior has all new more accurate detailing.
  • There is multiple sections of detailed interior – Main hold with printed Dejarik board. Rear compartment with engine room and hidden compartment. Gunnery station with minifigure gunner’s seat.
  • The model can be configured in Original Trilogy or Sequel Trilogy formats – it includes a round dish and a rectangular one.

Words do little to describe the epicness of all this. So I suggest you check out the image gallery, press release and designer video below. Warning for mobile users: There are a lot of images and I left them quite large so that you can see all the details.

According to somebody I spoke to at LEGO the Australian RRP is $1299.99. The set will be officially released on October 1st, but there will be a VIP release on September 14th.

…but there’s two porgs, two and a mynock!

…Nope, sorry, that was terrible. I’m just work shopping some ideas on how to sell the necessity of this to my wife before she wakes up in the morning. Going to be a long night.

Also “Shop for Me” has 25% off The Last Jedi Lego sets with the exception of BB-8 which is 20% off the RRP….. my wife will kill me if she ever finds out how much this awesome piece of Lego costs o_O

Well it’s official – this is one set I won’t be getting unless there is a dramatic change in my fortunes. For those with the money to pour into Lego’s bank account – “can I help build it – please??”

There should be more mynocks and less porgs, missing R2 too. Set looks great though so I will have to up my lego budget again… hope you’re wrong on the price.

definitely need some kind of 20% on that sucker, even for 7000+ piece 1299 is a bit obscene!

The only TLJ set I rate and it cost $1300!!!
Oh well all the money I save by not buying any other TLJ set can go towards this must have set.

Any word on whether this will be available anywhere except Lego stores and online Lego store? Given the price I would hope to get this on special from a retailer but heard rumors that it would be completely exlusive to Lego stores.
Thought about trying to import it to get it cheaper (even accounting for massive shipping costs) but again this would be difficult if it is only available at Lego stores.

Also any details on how long this will be around for? This will likely be my Christmas, Birthday, Father’s day present for next year (and my entire Lego budget on top) so wouldn’t be likely to get it until December next year.

LEGO have indicated that it’s not a limited edition so should have a fairly long production run.

        • Owen Reply

That’s good news – more chance for people to save up for it. Any word on who’s exclusive or if it will be lego shop only?

Does anyone know where you will be able to purchase this other than the Lego web site? I’m thinking maybe the Lego store in chadstone.
The last two ucs I purchased from the Lego web site both turned up with damaged boxes.

LLDC Melbourne posted on their Facebook page today that they would have it in October

Don’t forget that as well as the exchange rate (currently 81%) there is also sales tax added on at the register while our GST is embedded in the price. So our US friends would be looking at paying the equivalent of +/- $AUD 1,100 depending on where they lived. Plus their market is much larger which brings down their shipping and distribution costs.

And I guess they figured if people were prepared to pay >$5,000 for the original NISB a lot more would pay a lot less. Those people are probably a little angry and upset right now.

LEGO may have been an investment once, but I don’t think it is anymore.

people seems to forget that Star Wars lego sets have always been expensive in Australia, most of the other sets are average 21c per piece, this one works out to be about 17c per piece, so technically it is better value than any other SW sets

Has anyone had experience purchasing from S@H for a value in excess of $1000. From what I can gather, although GST is included in the price because the item value is over $1000 you would be liable for paying import duties. Has anyone been charged this before?
It would be nice to buy using S@H points, but not if you get slugged extra anyway.

    • Mark Reply

I don’t think so. Although Australian Lego S@H orders are fulfilled via European warehouses its still billed as Lego Australia. They would pay the import tax and/or have exemption. Essentially they are importing it, not you. Can you imagine how pissed off customers would be if they layed down $1300 only to get a rude shock when their package gets ‘ransomed’ by customs?! Besides, the law changed a while ago so that if you personally import items into Australia they are subject to import tax even below the previous threshold of $1000.
