The original series of Disney Minifigures were super popular, so it’s no surprise that LEGO have released a second series.
There are 18 minifigures in the series, from a mix of Disney properties. Here’s my in-depth look at all of them.
But first – the all important box distribution. With a series of 18 basic maths hints at the possibility of three full sets and some extras. Unfortunately that is not the case here. There are only two full sets, with numerous minifigures appearing four times per box. This isn’t quite as bad as having a single chase minifigure, but it’s still annoying.
Minifigure Counts
Box Positions
Normally I’d include a breakdown of the box positions to help you out when looking for your minifigures. Unfortunately my box had about 5 packets that came loose during transit and I’m not sure exactly where they came from.
Now… on to the minifigures.
Steamboat Classics
Classic Mickey
If you are a massive Disney fan but feel that the Steamboat Willie set is a bit expensive then you are probably going to be thrilled by this minifigure. This vintage Mickey is essentially the same as the Ideas set version, just missing some silver accents. The printing is fantastic as is the moulded head. The hat is a seperate element that fits securely on. I like the addition of the steamboat steering wheel, but the technic pin connection detracts a little.
Classic Minnie
Another nearly identical copy of the Steamboat Willie minifigure. Again Minnie lacks the silver accents of the Ideas version.
Ducktales
Huey
Huey features his classic red hat and shirt combo. The accessories include a printed book and printed tile.
Dewey
As you’d expect, Dewey comes with a blue hat and shirt. His accessory is a slingshot, last seen with Bart Simpson.
Louie
The last of our three small ducks. Louie comes with a green hat and shirt as well as a flashlight.
The three ducks are all identical except for the colour variations and accessories. Each has short legs and a tail element. The fact that these are all the same and the accessories are small is going to make these a nightmare to feel for.
Scrooge
I absolutely love the moulded Scrooge head. It is fantastically detailed. Scrooge also includes an awesome top hat that fits in a small hole (like those commonly found in minidoll hair pieces). Scrooge also includes a cane and coin. I feel like the coin should be gold rather than silver.
Chip & Dale
Chip
Some people have mixed feelings about the moulded heads but there is no way a minifigure like Chip would work any other way. Chip includes a nicely done acorn.
Dale
Another fantastic moulded head including Dale’s bright red nose. Dale comes with a nut sack. Not a joke. He comes with a sack for nuts.
Both Chip and Dale feature the new half size legs. It’s great to get these elements in new colours.
As somebody who grew up with Chip and Dale as the Rescue Rangers I definitely feel like this is a bit of a missed opportunity. The torsos are nicely printed but it’s no Hawaiian shirt or jacket.

Frozen
Frozen has had the minidoll treatment in the past, but minifigure purists now have an option.
Elsa
Else has some fantastic sparkly printing on the torso, arms and sloped skirt. Elsa’s hair piece is a soft rubbery material. She has a dual printed face – one normal and one winking. Elsa’s cape is a great piece but for me it stuck out rather than laying flat against the torso. Elsa has comes with a giant snowflake accessory.
Anna
Anna has some wonderful printing as well as an awesome cloak. Her hair is also soft rubber. Just like her sister Anna comes with a regular and wink faces. Anna comes with a reasonably new latern piece.
Aladdin
With a live action adaptation coming out this year it makes sense that LEGO would include some characters from Aladdin.
Jafar
Jafar is all about the awesome headpiece. The dual printed face also does a great job of capturing the character.
Jasmine
Jasmine features her iconic blue outfit, including arm printing. I know it’s unrealistic but how great would it be if Jasmine came with Rajah? Instead she comes with a small white bird.
Hercules
Disney’s Hercules isn’t as well loved as something like The Lion King but it certainly has it’s fans.
Hades
I wasn’t expecting to love like this minifigure as much as I do, but he’s awesome. The face printing is fantastic. The blue flame hair is attached to the head.
Hercules
Another unexpectedly great minifigure. All of the parts here work. The dual printed face, the hair piece, the cape, the printed shield.
Nightmare Before Christmas
Confession – I have never seen The Nightmare Before Christmas. The context behind these minifigures is a bit lost on me.
Sally
I really love the black flower accessory. Sally also has a great hair piece. Sally has a dual printed face but there’s barely any difference.
Jack
While I don’t know the character I can spot a cool minifigure when I see one. I love the details here, including the bat bowtie and the printed gift box.
The Incredibles
Edna Mode
Edna has such an iconic look and the combined hair and glasses provide for a faithful recreation. Just don’t take that element off because she looks really weird without it. Dual printed face but with the hair piece on the only difference is the mouth. Edna includes a teacup and bag.
Frozone
It seems Frozone found his super-suit. Nice printing and colours. He also comes with the hand blast elements which actually shoot out of his hands when pressed. I think they work more as a display thing than an actual play feature. Frozone also includes a round disc to stand on. It makes it a bit hard to display him on the standard minifigure base.
The Disney Series 2 Minifigures will be available in May.
Thanks to LEGO for sending me a box.
