The new VIP program is pretty terrible and has been poorly received around the globe. I’m not going to sugar coat that I’ve been meaning to write a post about it but I was kind of hoping there’d be improvements.
Having said that – LEGO are offering VIPs this cool looking tote bag! That’s something I guess.

Is this the highest threshold promo ever? I think only the black VIP card beats it, but thats a bit different IMO since it was ties to a specific set rather than a purchase threshold.
Its also, I think, probably the worst promo ever except for the black VIP card. Actually no, the black card did eventually get that small set, which wasnt particularly special but was at the very least actual Lego. Seriously, is this a joke? Who is this promo aimed at? Who is more likely to spend $250 just to get a friggin tote bag?
Here here…the new points system gives the same end result of 5% as well….so why change it?
I guess it gives Lego a more flexible platform for loyalty, but as far as I can see it offers the same value, it’s just now a multi-stage process to use it against an order, rather than just selecting a drop-down as in the past. Wouldn’t mind the tote but $249 is steep. Shouldn’t have rushed to get the treehouse last week 🙁
I wonder what happened to the rumoured Hidden Side GWP? I thought that would be the promo when they were released Aug 1. This tote bag promo threshold seems way too high & the gift is underwhelming.
