Get ready – August has some big releases!

Tonight July wraps up and we officially kick over in to August. It just so happens that August 1st is the official release date of a heap of exciting LEGO products. Now’s the time to get all your tabs ready because I think a lot of this stuff is going to sell out super quick.

This homage to the original NES can be yours for $349.99. The set includes a vintage style TV and the NES itself. The TV features a scrolling Mario level and if you place the LEGO Mario figure on top it will provide sounds for you.

LEGO are releasing a LOT of LEGO Mario sets tomorrow. If you want to get involved in the fun the key is going to be the starter pack – you need that to use any of the other sets.

Some amazing new sets and most will be Lego store exclusives… But those prices are eye wateringly bad. Even for a premium toy like Lego it seems more and more overpriced for what you get, especially the licensed sets.

A quick check this morning shows K Mart have a small discount on the Mario sets. Not matched (yet at least) by Amazon. Target has the best price on the Technic Volvo truck. Bit of a dry party though without the Osprey, which was going to be my day 1 purchase treat :(.

My wallet is not ready. Some great stuff, but will be waiting till it’s a bit cheaper elsewhere.

As has the piano. Either the scalpers are out in force again or there’s a healthy socio-economic group above the one I’m in ;).

The only Star Wars sets that came on sale this morning were the Resistance Transport, the throne room, the Brickheads, the Sith art and the Jedi Interceptor.

I’m pretty sure the others were “not in stock” from the second they showed up.

The factory must be struggling still, star wars all sold out must have had very little stock

Is the Mexican factory still closed? This could explain why production normally destined for us has been diverted instead to the US.

I have always struggled with stock on the Australian site. It is a bit worse right now but they have been really poor with stock levels since it was opened. New sets out of stock within a day or sometimes hour are common.

There have been sightings of the Osprey at MYER and Target sets all over the place so if you are lucky and can to one that has stock before the scalpers do, you might just be able to snag one.

Thanks for the heads up, I did venture out to my local Target this morning on the offchance but they didn’t have any of the new Technic sets.
