Charlestown Square LEGO Store Opens Tomorrow

Great news for LEGO fans in the Newcastle area – the Charlestown Square LEGO Store officially opens its doors tomorrow morning at 9am.

Of course the world is a lot different now so the store will be taking all of the required precautions with the opening. Don’t except a huge crowd rushing in to the store at 9am. When you arrive at the store there will be a QR code for you to scan so that you can join a virtual queue. You will then be notified by text when it is time to make your way back to the store. Shoppers are also asked to please remember to practice social distancing by keeping 1.5m from others and use the hand sanitiser provided. Masks must also be worn when in store.

If you get to the store tomorrow I’d love to hear your thoughts.

I was lucky enough to get to a booked session the day before they opened. Seemed a bit on the small size, and missing most of the newer releases I was after, hopefully that’s a temporary thing.. There’s only one custom lego display, a large-ish 2D mosaic scene, presumably of Nobby’s Beach, though its a little hard to tell from such a close up view. A reasonable selection of assembled sets on display though. The lego store set that comes as a bonus for spending $200 is kinda neat. I took a few photos inside the store if anyone is interested.
