Star Wars Day comes early with the release of R2-D2

Star Wars Day doesn’t officially take place until May 4th, but LEGO has decided to celebrate early this year.

When the clock ticks over to May 1st you should be able to take full advantage of all that Star Wars Day has to offer at LEGO’s online store…

75308 R2-D2 released

That’s right, no need to negotiate with the Jawas. You’ll be able to get your own R2-D2 for $329.99.

Find it here. [affiliate link]

Free Tatooine™ Homestead

All orders of Star Wars sets over $169 will receive this cute little bonus set. This is listed as running from May 1st – 5th but I don’t think it will last that long.

The Free Tatooine Homestead promo isn’t being added to cart 🙁 has it sold out already?

The Free Tatooine Homestead is not appearing in the shopping bag.

Thought it was just me, tried at 00:05 and didn’t work. Really sucks

Once again a VIP fail. less than 30 minutes into May 1st and the details are there, but the GWP isn’t being added.

Do I leave the order hanging and risk not getting R2D2? Or, swallow my disappointment in Lego and finish the purchase without the GWP?

online support chat: It looks like there has been a little bit of an issue with that launch but if you want to go ahead and place that qualifying order I can send that promotional item out for you separately.

I rang the support line. They are getting lots of calls about this. I have left my order reference number with them to add the GWP as soon as the issue is fixed.

GWP is adding to the cart now, everyone. Go go go!

7:45 am and there’s a queue of over 1,000 people just to access the Lego site. The kind of hype most companies can only dream about.

I think they must have fixed any orders that did not get the GWP. I ordered before the site was fixed, the email does not mention the Homestead, but when I look at the order online, the set has been added.
