LEGO set challenge of rejecting over 50 Ideas projects

Somebody get a box of red sharpies to Billund on the double – LEGO has some rejecting to do!

LEGO has officially announced that 57 projects will be included in the next review. I can’t see the Ideas team picking more than 3 sets in a review, so this is going to be a bloodbath.

Looking through the projects, which you can do here, I think LEGO has probably pre-rejected a heap of these. Here is my take on all 57 projects.

1. The Princess Bride: The Guilder Frontier by FSLeinad

NOPE.

2. Tutankhamun by Swan Dutchman

Maybe. Probably not but this could be a surprise inclusion.

3. The Nightmare Before Christmas – Halloween Town by Tvrulesmylife

LEGO aren’t going to do this IP in an Ideas set.

4. Hyrule Castle (The Legend of Zelda) by Artem Biziaev

They have rejected previous Zelda sets. This won’t be any different.

5. The Polar Express by Minibrick Productions

Nope.

6. Steampunk Airship by BrickHammer

Nope.

7. Baba Yaga by Artem Biziaev

48. LEGO Astronaut by legotruman

    17, 22, 33, 34, 37, 43, 54 I’d buy any of these, plus the two cars. Think I’m stuck on building builds.

None of these really leap out as must-buys, but we’ll have to keep an open mind anyway as there are so many qualifiers. As you say there’ll be two or three selected tops. The Ideas team has been in awesome form of late, I’m sure whatever is selected will be worth getting.

I’m guessing Castle could easily be the subject of next year’s 90th anniversary set, so that probably precludes any of these being selected (and there’s a new Creator 3-in-1 Castle on the way too).

Oh I love all the Castle ones but of course they can’t choose multiple castles so they should just choose number 39. lol. I love the Marine Life & the train bookends. There’s quite a few on the list I like this round. I also love your reviews: “nope”. Haha! Very succinct!

I would love an addition to Blacksmith and/or Sesame St

The Quartet is fantastic and should get up simply on originality…

I agree with you about that a modular expansion pack won’t get up – but I wish they’d do something like this in their own modular line. (I think it’s one reason the Spring Lantern festival set sold so well was it could be used to add diversity and open sa[ce ato a modular town / street).
