I haven’t been watching this year’s LEGO Masters (for reasons I might get in to in another post) but I was intrigued enough by the promos to see what was going on.
In an episode that completely shattered any sense of realism the teams all head to Kmart where they find a well stocked LEGO section and of course Sophie Monk.
The inclusion of Sophie Monk isn’t surprising, what shocked me is the lack of Anko building sets.
I’d love to hear what other people are experiencing but at both my local Kmart and Target it seems that the LEGO aisles are shrinking to accommodate the rapidly growing range of Anko sets. Is this something other people are noticing too?

I totally agree, as per Target on Bribie Island in Queensland.
What a shame !
It was also clean, was well lit and didn’t have 4000 sticky hand slappers stuck to the roof…. Must not have been filmed in a real Kmart location.
The same in several Sydney and Wollongong Kmarts I have been into lately. The shortages of Lego started during COVID. Fair enough. But it definitely has not gone back to pre-COVID levels or variety of stock of Lego on shelves at Kmart. On line seems to be different.
And Anko now seems to be heading towards matching Lego for shelf space in Kmarts.
Less stock of Lego in Targets too. But I think Anko (Lego compatible??) building block sets are only just starting to appear there. (That maybe my lack of interest, and thus attention, to the copy cat brand.)
(That being said, Lego is Very expensive. There seem to be some good looking sets in the Anko range. And kids whose parents don’t have a lot of spare cash to splurge on bonafide Lego, now can share more of the joy of building with blocks than they could in the past.)
Seems a bit suss if the Lego Masters crew went to a Kmart “store”, and the shelves next to the Lego were devoid of Anko. (Poor Anko. Pushed into the back shed and hidden under a dirty tarp when the visitors come around. That’s not much respect for Kmart’s flagship brand. ???? )
