LEGO have just officially revealed the rumoured brick-built Nintendo Game Boy.
This recreation of one of the most iconic items in the history of video games is pure nostalgia.
The set includes all the details that you expect from the button layout to the game slot in the back.
The game includes two game cartridges that you can insert into the set; he Legend of Zelda™: Link’s Awakening or Super Mario Land™. Each one also has a corresponding screen to add.
The screens look great and I am not sure exactly how they are done but they are clearly not just a sticker on a plate or a normal printed piece. LEGO describes them as “lenticular screens”.
Thankfully being a small handheld device the set is reasonably affordable. It’s not up on the Australia site yet but based on US pricing I expect it to be about $100. If it makes it to retailers this could be a steal for $75.
