Time is running out to enter Bricking Around’s mix-up giveaway

This your friendly reminder that all entries in this competition must be submitted by September 5th.

I recently got a delivery of LEGO sets to review. Then a few days later I got a second delivery containing most of the same sets again. This is not so great for LEGO Australia, but it’s fantastic news for the Bricking Around community.

I got on to LEGO and let them know that there was a mix-up and asked what should I do with the extra sets. LEGO very generously said I didn’t have to send them back, but I had to do something with them. Rather than reviewing each set twice I am giving away the extras to one lucky Bricking Around reader.

Inspired by LEGO’s mix-up I want you to create your own mix-up. What does that mean? I want to see multiple LEGO ideas or themes mashed up in to something new. What about a modular building made out of only Technic elements? Or LEGO Friends meets Classic Space?

You can build an example of your idea with real bricks; build it digitally; or you can even just submit some sketches or a logo design. This is all about your idea and making the concept clear – the best executed idea will win the full prize pack, worth over $700 RRP.

Submit your mash-up ideas here.

Entries close September 5th 2020.

Bricking Around Bushfire Appeal Update

I just want to start by saying that the Bricking Around community is absolutely amazing. You all dug deep and together raised $3286.48.

For each dollar donated the donor received one entry in the prize draw. A winning number was randomly selected and the prize pack will soon be on its way to Ben G.

Earlier today I made the donation to the Red Cross. The total donation was $3286, as I could only enter whole dollars. The other $0.48 will be kept in the PayPal balance for any future charity events.

Win A Percival Graves Minifigure

win-a-percival-graves

Despite the fact that everybody seems to hate the idea LEGO decided to release the Harry Potter minifigure series with another chase minifigure. This time there is only one Percival Graves minifigure per box, which as we all know makes finding them a pain. I know that some of you out there are still looking to complete your collections.

Luckily I’ve been keeping an eye out for new boxes and managed to track down a couple of these guys to give away. There are two minifigures up for grabs.

All you need to do to win one of them is to enter your details in the form below.

Competition: Win A Police Officer or Pug

Could this be the biggest giveaway to ever hit Bricking Around? Well no, not really. BUT STILL – I have two prizes that you may not have been able to find yourself.

One winner will get to pick between: A series 18 Police Officer Minifigure or a 30542 Cute Pug polybag. A runner up will receive the remaining item.

#WhatWillYouBuild – Building Like a Kid With 10404 Ocean’s Bottom

WhatWillYouBuild Building Like A Kid Thumb

This article was planned a while ago but it just happened to coincide with a campaign from LEGO called #WhatWillYouBuild. Thanks to that campaign I have a copy of the 10404 Ocean’s Bottom set to give away. See the end of the article for competition details.

To celebrate the 60th anniversary of the LEGO brick I wanted to do something different. Sure I plan to review some amazing sets that are out this year but I also wanted to try and capture what made me fall in love with LEGO in the first place. I set out with a simple goal – build like a kid.

LEGO Looking For Giveaway Suggestions

sophia-cu-with-chat

Everybody knows that LEGO regularly have giveaways on their online store. These bonuses help tempt people to buy at RRP from the official online store. There have been some great giveaways in the past, and there have been some less great ones too.

Now LEGO is directly reaching out to the adult LEGO fan community for suggestions on future giveaways. They have asked partners like this site to find out what people want in a giveaway. I’ll collect your suggestions and then pass on the top 5. Enter your suggestion in the form below and then I will provide a poll to help finalise the top 5.

I’ll be taking suggestions until October 24th, and then from then until October 30th I will feature a poll of your suggestions.

Your suggestion can be anything that LEGO might produce – that mean no new IP and no suggestions that violate LEGO’s rules (drugs, nudity, war etc). More detail is available at the end of the article if you are still unsure.
